Question about Wacom Bamboo Fun 5.8" x 3.7" USB Tablet with Cordless Pen and Mouse - Black

1 Answer

My tablet pen stopped working after a fall.

I was moving my Bamboo Fun tablet into the other room when it dropped from my hands about a foot to the floor. I picked it up and went back to drawing on Photoshop.

The drawing end of it won't work on the tablet! The eraser end works but not the small tipped end.

I don't want to have to buy a replacement if I don't want to. Can anybody help me fast?

Pen droped on the floor, now only the eraser works

I also dropped it, from like 2 feet off the ground, and now the tablet parts all messed up. The buttons on the tablet don't work and neither does the scroller thing. Now, the pen acts as a regular mouse (the eraser doesn't work, the pointer doesn't scale up to the screen)

Pen not working properly all of a sudden

Try reinstalling it, And also change the battery in it, but it has to be the same kind. And go to your settings and change the sensory thingie, like if it says 'Light' And yours is verry clost to that, then move it to 'Heavy' And then It will do it better and wont do that when you move your mouse of the screen.

That happened to me yesterday. What I did was I went to the wacom site here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php, selected my tablet make and operating system, and downloaded the driver update. I installed it and as soon as it was done my pen started working again. Hopefully this works for you too!

Point pen fails after falls

I'm guessing something inside the pen was jarred. A basic solution would be to get a replacement.

Also try taking the tip out of the pen and leaving it OUT of the pen for 24hrs.

My pen pointer stopped working on my Bamboo Fun

You probably dropped the pen - there is a very fragile ferrite core in the tip and when it breaks it behaves just as you describe.  I have posted a description of the repair procedure (adapted from a description for other pens that I had found on the web) on my blog: http://wishidknownthat.blogspot.com/2009/04/fixing-wacom-bamboo-pen.html

It takes a bit of patience and skill but you can do it.
I am pretty sure that this kind of "surgery" would void any warranty - on the other hand, if this is indeed your problem they will say you abused the pen (by dropping it) and charge you for the new one anyway.

Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen isnt working correct

I think you dropped the pen on its tip and broke the little ferrite sensing core.  You can try to repair it by gluing the core back together - it worked for me.  For detailed instructions on how to do it, go here: http://wishidknownthat.blogspot.com/2009/04/fixing-wacom-bamboo-pen.html  or you can try to swap the core for the eraser and the tip (more involved - you would need to be very good with a soldering iron to attempt this).  Either way - it's unfortunate that the pen is so fragile and that the user manual doesn't really warn you of this.
Good luck!
