hi there,

you will have to start by removing the kickplate. which is the panel under the doors. it's held on by 2 screws. remove the screws and remove the kickplate. you should have no problem pulling out the drain pan then. you can clean it with bleach no problem.

thanks

yup..that's how it is. no solution but to pick up the dead mouse and clean the drain pan as is, where is.
you might send someone with a small hand to reach the pan completely. rinse it with soap and water to eliminate the odor. use gloves to pick up and clean the pan.

tnx 4 using fixya,

SOURCE: Water draining under crisper bins & onto shelves. Try again

Your drain tube is stopped up. Take the panel off in the freezer section and chip away the ice in the pan below the coil. When you get to the drain hole pour hot water in it until it free flows. You will need a towel in the freezer to catch the excess water. Run some extra hot water through it to assure that you clean the drain out good.

My Frigidaire refrigerator has a drain pan that is un remove able and has a bad smell how can I clean.

I appreciate your inquiry, friend!
If you would like to clean any dirt or debris from the drain pain you can use a vacuum attachment to get inside and clean any residue within the drain pan. You can also use warm water and bleach to help disinfect the drain pan prior to vacuuming it out. If that does not help you may want to consult with a professional technician for additional cleaning to be completed within your Frigidaire refrigerator. Best of luck! -Matt

Why is there water accumulating at the bottom of my refrigerator?

More than likely, the drain tube connecting the bottom of the drain pan under the cooling coil is either frozen or blocked by debris. If you can locate the pan under the cooling coil which is located in the freezer, you can clear it by using a straw to penetrate the drain pan opening and blow through the straw and clear the drain tube.

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator top freezer model # FRT8B5HBO serial # BA80212978. It leaks from the bottom front in the morning. What do you think the problem is. Exactly where is the pan located...

It's not the pan that's the problem, it's the drain line to the pan.

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

How do I empty the drain pan?

If the pan does ot have a hose under it, then you would have to employ your vacuum claener to **** it into a container. Otherwise put some old towels in the drain pan, and hand-wring them out as necessary.

Water dripping down on top shelf of refrigerator compartment.

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Mike

Water in refridgerator interior

You have a plugged drain in the freezer. Unplug and remove back panel in freezer. Under the evaporator there will be ice, thaw with hairdryer or steamer. There is a hole under the ice, that is the drain. Flush with hot water until it drains into outer pan. It may take awhile to get drain cleared.
