I have found that current devices that heat up (hair dryers, straighteners etc...) all are made so flimsy that at a certain heat point, the shut off.
I also have come to realize and expect that there IS A SHORT LIFE EXPECTANCY for any heating electrical product.
If your device is new, I would return it. If it's old, buy a new inexpensive one (on sale) .... MAKE SURE YOU BUY ONE THAT YOU KNOW IS GOING TO HAVE A RELATIVELY SHORT LIFESPAN. Silver color does not mean metal nor a longer lifespan. Buy cheap, use and replace as needed.
It's an eco-nightmare, but once a heating product goes out, it is too dangerous to even think you can fix it yourself without risk of potential major fire. It may look fixed and you then come home and it's burned to the ground.

I have a Vidal Sassoon Max hair clipper, and I suspect the construction of it is similar to yours. To take the two halves of the body shell apart you need to remove the blade assembly. Try this:
After removing the two visible screws, place your thumbs at each end of the cutting blades and push upwards.
The blade assembly should unclip, revealing two more screws underneath. Remove these, and the two halves of the body shell should come apart.
