Rca f32450 about the last 6 months sometimes when you would turn the tv on the picture would have an hourglass shape, if you would turn the tv on/off it would go back to full size, now it is only staying in an hourglass shape

Hi, It sounds like your TV has a Pincushion problem based on your post/description. There is a big chance that this is just a colder solder/loose connection but of course an on-site diagnosis would be better. Since this involve opening the unit and working on the electronics inside, I would suggest that you seek the services of a qualified TV professional.

    Hi again,

    You may want to try the "thump test" though not recommended. With the unit powered up, give it a good whack at the side, top or back and see if the problem resolves (even momentarily). If yes, then a resolder would solve your problem.

AKA flyback transformer . Inside an Integrated HVT are diodes
that can degrade and give the appearance of a bad cap....
Of course, you should check the electrolytics with an ESR
meter, just in case....
