You don't need any additional software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Dvr518, cd only refers to windows Vista &XP. I have windows 7 will it install or must I obtain updated programe

That just means that the install disk was made before Windows 7 was introduced. Windows 7 did a decent job with backwards compatibility and you should be Ok. If not, you can always obtain new or updated drivers for the operating system right on the Vivitar website.

Ibought this camera and it didn't have the driver info in the box. I bought it from fingerhut. These people are imposible. the camera without drivers is no good

According to your camera's manual, no driver is necessary unless your computer is running Windows 98SE. No driver is required with Windows 2000, ME, or XP (Plug and Play). The manual is dated 2005, so it makes no mention of Vista or Windows 7, so compatibility with the newer systems is an unknown. If you're running Vista or 7 I suggest that you use the link below to contact the camera manufacturer for clarification and possibly to obtain a software disk.

How do i get software for vista

Dependent upon the camera you want to get software for, simply type the name of the camera manufacturer and vista software into your favorite search program to find the necessary program.

For example, using google, type "canon vista software" and it will come up with a link that will point you in the right direction.

If you have a certain manufacturer in mind, go to their website and look under Support or Driver Downloads. If they have software for Vista then you should be good to go.

You have this listed in a camera group, but from the entire question and comments, it seems like an OS question. I will answer this as an OS question, if it's not, please clarify with comments and what camera you are working with. Thanks.

If your interested in having your XP OS look like Vista, there is a Vista Transformation Pack you can obtain from here to accomplish this.

Easyshare Software

The 3.0 is no longer available on the website and support is also discontinued on that version. Try downloading the new version 8.0 for xp/vista or 8.1 for win 7 ,make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements of the program, download the program at www.kodak.com/go/edl
