Hello I wonder if you can help. When we switch

Had a similar problem like this several times. Try choosing safe mode. Safe mode will load the required drivers. After safe mode finishes the loading process, restart your computer and choose to start windows normally. The problem you mention usually happens when the computer is turned off without using normal shut down procedures. Also happens when you have a sudden power outage.

No Signal when desktop wants to load

It does not hate that monitor. I believe the problem is in the settings on your video. Your monitor cannot display them. You will most likely need to start your computer in safe mode and change the display settings on your video card or, alternatively, download updated video drivers. Also, if you can't get Windows to start in normal or safe mode, one of the options you get when you press F8 on startup is to start in VGA mode. That will get you in so you can tweak your settings, which are probably set to a resolution too high for your monitor.

After a lighting strike the graphics card and modem fried.. ok thats fine can replace those but the computer will no longer shut down, goes through the process then immediatly restarts, goes through...

Suggest you format your PC and install a fresh copy of windows and update all the driver. If the problem still exist, most probably is the motherboard problem.

On Pwr up logo appears then LCD returns to stanby Black screen

I will assume the monitor is staying on during the boot process all the way until Windows loads.
If that is the case, then...
  • Start the computer
  • wait until the initial bios/logo screens for your motherboard go away.
  • Press F8 to get the Windows recovery boot menu
  • If you see the Windows Logo you would normally see then press rest and try again.
  • In the recovery screen, select SAFE MODE
  • Boot into Windows and uninstall your video card.
  • Reboot the computer the normal way through the start menu.
  • When your PC starts back up it should then reinstall the video card, and set itself automatically back to 60khz as default.
Let me know how you go =)

No Signal Detected

Is this on a notebook or on your regular PC?The answer will determine what the solution is. You can first check to see if the little pins on the plug are all straight and none are bent or broken. If one of he pins is bent then you can try gently straighten it (unplug the monitor from the wall first) If any of the pins are broken then either the cable needs to be replaced or the monior has to be replaced.
