Question about Brother MFC-8460N All-In-One Printer
I have a mfc-8460n with 17000 page count on it and seem to get a paper jam every time i go to print or copy. the printer will pull paper from the tray, runs 3/4 of the way through the drum and stops about 1/8 of the way through the fuser and then jams. any help will be greatly appreciated.
Check to see if this happens when you use the drop down manual feed tray. If your printer works fine using the manual feed tray the problem is with your paper tray. Check to make sure it is set to letter size. I've found that sometimes the 'teeth' holding the paper stop on the paper tray wear out and when the printer goes to pick up paper, it pushes the paper stop out of position causing the printer to think it's using a different, much longer size paper thus preventing it from feeding all the way through. You'll probably need a new paper tray if this is the case.

Tips for a great answer:
Welcome to fixya
I have a solution for this
It sounds like you need to remove the toner cartridge and check for half broken pages below the toner. Some of the parts inside will be hot to the touch so take caution when attempting to remove the pages while the system is still hot.
Your pre-solution is located above. More information is available
