Blown channel Hi, I have the Rotel RX-950ax. I have one blown channel. It works, but the sound is tinny. Can I fix it or should I shoot it? Thanks for your advice.

You cannot fix the receiver unless you are a technician with the proper tools and circuit diagrams. I would think it worth the cost of repair though.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Stab in the dark here, but I don't see any screws in the main board in the left rear viewed from the front. I have a dead one here. Standby light only. I'm guessing relay unless I am looking in the wrong place for the missing *****. Please advise.

I need the code

The URC database should have codes for that unit. The software for programming the MX-900 has it. Which remote are you trying to program?

My Rotel RSX-972 surround sound receiver has no power, the repair centre cannot isolate the problem and they do not have a service manual to guide them,a service manual would be handy??

Unless yuo can find a Rotel authorized service center, you are not likely to find any service information. These units should not be difficult to repair. Their designs are pretty much standard with a few twists. Any shop that handles audio repair should be able to resolve this. If not, please post your location and I'll try to locate a shop for you.

Also, are there any indications that the unit is trying to work at all or is it completely dead?

Thanks,
Dan

Rotel RX-800

I have an RX 600 - which has just gone 'phut' - which is how I came today to find this website ! I once had your speaker problem but eventually tracked it down to a bad connection of the speaker cable into the rear of the Receiver. Plastic sheathing and dust was partly in the way. Strip off a bit more plastic to expose fresh bright wire, and remake secure tug-proof connection before you try anything else. Oh, and while you doing it, do the others as well !

Blown something? No amplification?

If you hear a faint sound I doubt if a fuse is blown?? never Know though. You have to have and know how to use a DVM or muti-meter to trouble shoot solid state electronics, as well as know how to solder and check transistors and other electronic parts. There wouldnt be one particular thing that could cause your problem. There could be a several things wrong as transistors and ICs tend to snowball and short out or open up with power surges. If you want , first get a schematic, but if you dont know how to read one stop right here and save your money and upgrade to a shiney new stereo system.. Good Luck
