Where is the manual feed

I think, there is None.
You have only tray 1 so manual feed must also be done using tray 1 by taking out all the other papers
If that is too inconvenient, get the optional tray 2. Fill that with paper and leave tray 1 for manual feed

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 tray can't be inserted all the way. Stops with 3 inches of tray sticking out.

  1. Grasp the handle on the front of the input tray, and then pull the tray towards you to open it.
Figure 1: Pull out the input tray

  2. Slide the paper width guides out as far as possible.
  3. Remove all paper from the paper tray.
  4. Inspect and remove any foam or tape packaging materials in the paper tray.
  5. Insert a stack of unused, plain white paper (with the print-side down) in the center of the tray.

Figure 2: Load paper into the tray

CAUTION: Do not load any paper above the solid red lines on the sides of the tray. Do not use torn, wrinkled, perforated, wet, or folded paper. Make sure to remove all paper clips and staples before loading the paper. Figure 3: Stack label height

  6. Slide the paper guides in so that they rest against the edges of the paper, and then insert the tray into the product and push it forward until it clicks into place.

Figure 4: Slide the paper guides in and reinsert the tray into the product

  7. Pull out the tray extender on the output tray.

Step two: Load paper in optional Tray 2

Tray 2 is an optional accessory. Follow these steps to load paper in Tray 2.
NOTE: Tray 2 supports only plain letter or A4 paper.

  1. Grasp the underside of the tray, and then pull out the tray from the bottom of the printer.
Figure 6: Pull out the tray from the bottom of the printer

  2. Slide the paper width guides out as far as possible.
  3. Load a stack of unused, plain white paper (print-side down) in the center of the tray. Make sure that the stack of paper aligns with the engraved lines in the tray.

NOTE: Load Tray 2 with only U.S. Letter or A4 plain white paper.
  4. Slide the paper guides in so that they rest against the edges of the paper.
  5. Carefully reinsert the tray into the printer, and then push the tray forward to close it.

  6. Pull out the tray extender on the output tray.

Load specialty paper Follow these steps to load specialty paper such as card stock, envelopes, photo paper, or labels.
Before you proceed, verify that your printer supports the specialty paper on which you are attempting to print by viewing the product specifications . If the size, type, or weight of the paper is not available, the printer does not support printing it. Also note the tray loading capacity for the type of paper on which you are attempting to print.

Can't print on transparency film

In order to print on transparency film from a HP8600 all you have to do is load the paper rough side down with the white border going into the tray toward the back of the printer so that you can not see it when you look into the paper tray. The HP 8600 will auto-adjust for the film, that is why you do not have the option to select transparency like you did in the HP 8500

I need to change our Canon IR2016 from A4 to A3, Also I need to activate 1 to double sided copies. I am looking on line for the user manual for the IR2016 but can't find

ir2016 is allready A3 size copier.you can change tray setting.pull out tray from machine and then set A3 paper on it according to paper you must change blue lever position from A4 to A3.then close your tray.now you can work with A3 size paper
for double side copying you must be installed a "duplex unit" which is not come with standard machine. It is an optional unit.after that you can make double sided copying.

Message says remove paper jam but there is no paper jam. What now?

Generally; if there is a sensor problem or stuck sensor, this error will come up and stay on the display even after turning off and on. If you are getting paper with a crease or fold, then something is pulling or locking up in the paper path. Common causes could be a pickup feed assembly, registration, underneath the cartridge, the fuser or something in the output assembly. You could try a paper path test and select it to print from different trays to see if the issue may be just in one tray area or if it happens from all trays.

Saw your numerous posts at different times during 2009 and wanted to let you know I posted a potential solution for you. Hope it works for your situation... I've copied idea below for your review. Worked perfectly for me 15 minutes ago.

------ SOLVING THAT "PAPER JAM" ERROR ------

Tools:
(2) Medium sized paper clips

Preferable Tools:
(1) Pair of pliers with rubber grips
(1) Edged tool such as wall paper knife, metal pick or toothpick to clean out gear teeth.

This fix applies to paper jams the device believes are in the rear duplexer and often occurs after a real jam that has shredded the paper inside the mechanism.

Despite the fact you've carefully cleaned out all the visible paper from inside with the cover open, paper can jam the gears used to drive the rear rollers and even the tiniest amount of shred prevents operation resulting in the impossible Paper Jam error.

HP Tech Support online and on the phone don't troubleshoot it past "clear the paper from the device than try again please" b.s.

After removing the duplexer, grip any of the four rubber rollers and attempt to rotate in either direction, if they don't move freely with little effort, then continue with these instructions.

Begin:
1. Take the first paper clip and contact the lower two brass rectangles, this fools the device into believing the duplexer is installed, keep the contacts bridged (don't remove your hand or the paper clip until Step 4.) THERE IS NO ELECTROCUTION RISK.
2. Press the "OK" button on the control panel to pretend the paper jam is cleared.
3. CAREFULLY OBSERVE THE pair of white gears on the left, if they seem to clutch, stall, skip or freeze then you have paper shards which are causing the jam.
4. Using a firmer grip or pliers, grip the furthest left rubber roller and rotate in either direction , the gears should rotate with your efforts and look for shards of paper in the gear teeth.
5. Use the paper clip, toothpick or any appropriate edged tool to clear the shards.

Bridge the lower contacts again and observe if the gears rotate freely, if so then you've cleared the insidious jam should be able to print until the next error from this piece of chit printer.

Hope helps.

How do I get faxes and copies to print from tray 2?

That is an advanced feature, genrally this is known as Automatic drawer eligibility. However, I am not sure this device offers this advanced feature. Look for options to select drawers for your diff functions in your users manual. Sorry best I can say...
