Sorry, the motherboard died. Since this is an older model finding a spare motherboard for it will be difficult and costly. Better just sell this one for parts and get another used but functioning laptop.

Download and install the UAA, it is an audio driver from Microsoft. Once installed your computer should see "new hardware" and install the sound card. Use the driver you downloaded from HP and you should be fine.
