Question about Saeco Vienna De Luxe Espresso Machine

Grinder starts, but doesn't wet coffe before red light comes on

The grinder in my machine begins grinding but stops before any water/coffee flows. Inside the machine I notice dry, ground coffee instead of pucks in the out-basket. Steamer seems to be working.

joebastone@msn.com I have the same problem.

WE recently had a jam in the grinder of our La Cimbali M53 unit. I took the grinder apart and freed the jam and re installed the unit. it is working fine and espresso seems OK. We have adjusted the grinds to what we think they should be. The used coffee grind is not in a puck form when the unit dumps them in the tray. It is loose grounds and seems dry. We are getting some water in the used grind draw also.

This is a duplicate, here's the answer

I have the same problem but it's easy to fix. Turn the machine off. Open the front panel. Remove the dump box on the side. Pull the grinder unit out.

Look at the thing you just pulled out. You'll see a little ramp going from where everything slides down from the top. That ramp gets damp and the freshly ground coffee starts sticking on it. Take your finger and wipe it off.

Next, is kinda hard to describe. If you put your fingers inside, along the top, center edge of the machine you'll feel a ridge. It's a spring loaded door. Pull it down and clean the grounds out.

Slap it back together and you're good to go. Only takes about a minute when you get the hang of it.

Ours does not finish cycle either!!! The machine runs through the cycle up until the point where water should enter the "brew group". The coffee doesn't come out. What shall we try?

I just fix that problem by opening the water flow meter by some coffee grinds, also had a little coffe grind jamming a check valve that is at last of the water pump flow, now is running pretty well

Beans grind and are wet but coffee doesn't come out... it goes through the cycle and spits out a little. When cycle is complete, the water light comes on, but after priming the same thing occurs.

This tells me that either the grind is too fine and or the brew unit screen, and discharge tube needs to be cleaned. Try this first press the button for making a espresso using the manual function, do not add coffee through the door then press the brew button. If water flows freely then the grind is too fine, if you get the water prime error then the screen under the red o-ring on the brew unit needs to be cleaned.

A Krups KM7005 coffee maker/grinder doesn't heat or drip water .

Mine had the same problem ... all the lights are on, grinding works fine, but no heat on the plate, and no dripping of water.

After a weekend on the workbench, I mastered this machine. The KM7005 has 2 x MicroTemp G4 thermal cutoff (TCO) fuses which interrupt the Live line, for overheat protection. Mine didn't overheat per se, but the TCO blew anyway. Not reset-able ... need to be replaced with a soldering iron. To date, I have helped 13 people on this site fix this exact problem.

I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. Write me at KM7005@flightsystems.biz.

Knocked out spent coffe grounds come out mushy not like a puck

Adjust the grind on the machine, or the amount of coffee the grinder puts into the chamber.

I can not get espresso from the coffe nozzle

Without the portafilter can you get just water from the grouphead. If yes check the grind on the grinder make it a little coarser. Think of your coffee grinds as sand and rocks: if you try to run water through rocks it will flow really fast, and if you run it through sand it will flow really slow.

Water does not blend with coffee

Hi,

When you mount the grinder back, do you turn it so the red mark fit together?

Try to check the brewing unit, on the top off the brewing unit you will see a little pin. Take it out and make sure this is clean and put it back again.

No coffee coming out of the machine!

First step, increase the grinder size. Note: only change grinder setting while the grinder is spinning. If that does not work, look into cleaning your brew group screens. The machine should have came with a key to remove the screen. If your machine as a preground option try making a preground coffee without inserting coffee to see if only water will come out. If water comes out then you know its your grinder. Usually too small of grinder sizes will stop water flow.

Grinding

Do you "hear the coffegrinder trying to grind", and after that only hot water comes out?

Does it grind and just release the coffe in to the dregdraw dry?

"standard first sollution for me when a grinder is malfunctioning is to. set the grinder to more coarse and see if it starts to work again."
