Try go to your controll panel and remove the game in add/remove programs. if that don't work you delete the files in the folder the game was saved in. It might be some filese depending on each other so you have to delete one file to delete the other one

Shut the computer off and then power it up again. As it is starting press the shift button and F10 and hold. You should get a warning that you are about to reset your computer select yes.

Keep in mind that once it does the reset all previous windows updates will be lost and need to be down loaded and installed through windows update again. Windows XP is no longer supported so not sure if all XP updates are still available.

Windows was writing to a file when the power went off. Now windows files are damaged. I'm assuming you have Windows XP on the machine. Do you have your Windows XP cd?

How do I run Drakan Order of the Flame on windows 7?

You need the 445 patch and run the game in developer mode by holding shift whilst starting the game. Click on the developer tab on the box that appears and tick enable developer mode and click OK. The game should run as normal albiet bypassing the intro cutcene that causes the crash.

Windows does not displayed after boot, just "black screen".

Next time that you start windows, hold down the left shift key, that should prevent programs from starting automatically as windows boots. If the computer then operates normally, then take a look at your startup list (use msconfig). Otherwise...

Try starting in safe mode, see if problem still exists. If it does, something is going on with core windows system files. If not, then a program (which automatically starts) or driver is causing the issue.

In either case, you can also start in safe mode, but a version that prompts you if you want to load every file (and there are a bunch of them). The last file that is loaded before problem appears is usually the culprit.

Good Luck.

Sounds like the HAL.DLL problem that I have with my Aspire One.
Try booting off a genuine Windows XP disc and choosing the 'recovery console' option. At the command line, type 'CHKDSK C:' and press Enter. If you're lucky, that will do the trick.

Original "XP-Professional Disk" loaded - Will NOT accept svpk

Hi there.
When it get to the point where it cannot install the service packs, if it gives you an option to skip the files then do that and let XP install as usual, when its installed perform a Microsoft update and update the machine, this will no doubt take hours because if the disk is 4 years old it will want service packs 2 and 3 installing so make sure you set the computer to never shut down or go to sleep.

Good luck

Hey guys i help

Hi d_smog,
If you can make it to windows then go to start-run and type 'chkdsk' and hit enter. That will run check disk.
But I don't think that running a check disk will solve the problem, I am guessing that could be either a virus; because you tell me that norton went down at the same time your PC went down, in this case I recommend formating the drive; or it could be that your PC's cooler stopped working and the PC is overheating which causes an automatic shutdown to prevent the components from breaking down, in this case I recommend testing your PC's cooler and changing it if necessary.

Samsung v25 shutdown

hi dear

Do not complete the following procedure unless you are very familiar with internal computer hardware removal and installation. The hardware components in a computer are very sensitive to static electricity. For information about the correct handling of computer components, contact your computer manufacturer. 1. Shut down your computer, and then remove all the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) devices. 2. Restart your computer. • If Windows starts successfully, shut down your computer, and then reinstall the PCI devices one at a time. Start Windows after the installation of each device. When you install a device that causes the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section, remove that device, and then continue to install the other PCI devices. • If Windows does not start successfully, remove one or more of the memory modules that are installed in your computer. Leave sufficient RAM for your computer to start and run Windows XP.

Note Windows XP requires 128 megabytes (MB) RAM. The minimum is 64 MB and the maximum is 4 gigabytes (GB).

For example, if two 256-MB memory modules are installed in your computer, remove one of the memory modules. If Windows starts successfully, shut down the computer, and then reinstall the RAM modules one at a time. Start Windows after the installation of each RAM module. When you install a module that causes the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section, remove that module, and then continue to install the other RAM modules. 3. Determine if the PCI devices in your computer are compatible with Windows XP. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx
