M14x overheating

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Overheating issues

Blow out the Xbox 360 with compressed air, buy external fans, but don't buy the "Nyko intercooler" as they have been rumored to have cause problems to the Xbox 360 and void warranty. Your best bet is to buy a cheap office fan and point it at the Xbox to cheap the air flowing. Also if possible, move the Xbox 360 into a open space where it has at least 5 inches of space behind it, and at least 2 or 3 inches of space on either side to keep a nice airflow. Best of luck!

Overheating even with intercooler

Take the intercooler off. It draws power from the console which inturn creates more heat. You need to put in a Whisper Tailsmoon fan. If you are getting the red rings, you will probably need it to be professionally reflow or put the x-clamp fix in as a DIY solution.

Fixed the red ring of death, but now turn system on, the fan fires up slow to fast and then immediately quits and have 2 red lights on left side. What causes this?

2 red lights on the left side are overheating. I cant stress enough how much you dont want this to happen but if you want to order a new fan they have better fans. http://www.amazon.com/Talismoon-Whisper-Fan-Xbox-360-Blue/dp/B000H1V56U
if you need further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to help
