Blow out the Xbox 360 with compressed air, buy external fans, but don't buy the "Nyko intercooler" as they have been rumored to have cause problems to the Xbox 360 and void warranty. Your best bet is to buy a cheap office fan and point it at the Xbox to cheap the air flowing. Also if possible, move the Xbox 360 into a open space where it has at least 5 inches of space behind it, and at least 2 or 3 inches of space on either side to keep a nice airflow. Best of luck!
Take the intercooler off. It draws power from the console which inturn creates more heat. You need to put in a Whisper Tailsmoon fan. If you are getting the red rings, you will probably need it to be professionally reflow or put the x-clamp fix in as a DIY solution.
there could be hardware problems! mine never gave the two lights when it started it but when playing certain games it overheated and thats whats happening.. i got upset and opened mine up[ voids warrenty for three red lights] and added a 3 inch fan with a 12 v converter for its on power. i set it in on the heat sink and the bottom right corner of the xbox..
so i think you should get a powerful 3inch by 3inch fan with its on power supply and set ur xbox so you can point the fan at the bottom of the xbox! this will help! dont open ur xbox just set a powerful fan[ radio shack, walmart, hardware store] and let it cool the bottom of ur xbox!!!!!!!!
1. 12 v dc brushless fan
1. 12 volt ac power adapter that hooks up to the wall and the fan for a Direct Current!
thats it may cost over 20 and walmart is cheap and a little less quality
but as long as air pushing on the bottom of ur xbox is moving fast[ dont put the fan to close] so heat is transfered ur good
Don't use a intercooler they will bugger your Xbox 360 for sure. From what you said you have your console where it can get plenty of air, this is important as the RROD is caused by overheating.
As for your problem, try unplugging the unit and removing the HDD, put the HDD back on and plug it all back in again.
If this fails, since the unit is only 5 months old call Microsoft, their phone numbers are on the xbox.com web site, they will pay for the product to be returned, and when you get it back it will be as good as new.
Hi m8, this is caused by the machine is overheating
you could try installing one of the cooling units that slot into the back of the machine or by replacing the fans inside the 360 for whisper ones (faster rpm)
dont lay it on a carpet and if you have it laid down try standing it up to see if that helps if it carries on doing this then it could be the motherboard overheating.
overheating/board failure: this is more than likely whats happening. you will need to strip down the console and take the mainboard out. take the x-clamps off (both of them) and go over the whole board (paying more attention to the memory and cpu,gpu etc) in a circular motion around 2-3 inches away from the board. let the mainbaoard cool down and then put it all back together. then try again. i guarantee this will probably fix your problem. www.fixmyconsole.co.uk
This exact thing is happening to not only me but to also a friend of mine. You will probably notice that the fan kicks on really high and then goes to 2 flashing red lights, this is because the 360 is overheating or thinks its overheating. My friend's 360 starts up with the fan kicked on high and then only plays for a minute or 2, followed by the 2 red lights. If its under warranty send it back to Microsoft, I took mine and my friends 360 apart and replaced the thermal paste with arctic silver, but it kind of only helped a little for mine and not at all for my friends. SEND IT BACK!!!!!!
