The image in the viewfinder and on the lcd screen of my dsc f707 is green.
The quality and colour of the images captured is unaffected by this.

After much money at repair shop for green viewfinder,
3 minutes ago I rapped my F-707 sharply on the
camera bottom, and green disappeared. Everything
else appears to be normal now.

I had the same problem with my F-707. The solution for fixing it was correct. I grabbed the bottom of the body and I hit it against the coushin of the chair and the problem dispeared instantly.

I also have a dcs-f717 (far too aged now but still working) and went across a similar problem (LCD and finder green tainted). Just read these solutions which seemed awfully stupid but, damn it, just hit the body of the camera with my fist and now it's back to normal ! Thanks...

LCD Monitor on ,and the Electronic Viewfinder turned off

If you turn on the back LCD, the electronic viewfinder will remain on while in a shooting mode. There is no setting on the camera to use only the back LCD monitor while shooting. If you playback images in the Play mode, only the LCD monitor will turn on. However, if you press the Monitor button while in the Play mode, than the back LCD monitor will turn off. The image will display only in the viewfinder LCD.
