Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

Freezing and either blank screen or solid color screen on the xbo

Any idea what the problem is and or the solution? Already checked to make sure both fans were functioning correctly.

Are there any red lights on in the "ring of lights"(the lights that are supposed to be green around the power button on the console)? Depending on the number of red lights, you may have a couple problems. You can try any of these tips to try to fix the problem, even if there are no lights on.

First, make sure the console has plenty of "breathing room". You need roughly 12" of clearance behind the console, and about 4" of clearance on either the sides or the top and bottom. Also, make sure that it is able to get fresh air, if it is re-circulating the same, hot, stale air that it's trying to get rid of, that will cause it to overheat, even with the fans working on full blast. Try playing a few games for a while with the console away from any enclosure (like on the floor would work) to allow full air circulation.

If that doesn't seem to fix the problem, make sure the A/V cables in the back aren't getting pinched, pulled, or they aren't worn out (bare wires, broken pins, etc). Also, make sure you have the switch set to the correct mode (TV/HDTV) for your TV, sometimes they get bumped to the wrong setting.

Check the power source, the big gray brick of a power converter with the single LED light and where it plugs into the wall. While the system is on and running the light should be solid Green. If it is red, you may need a new power supply.

Finally, if you have exactly 3 blinking red lights on the "ring of light" there is really nothing more you can do that I know of. I've gotten that, as many x-box owners have, but Microsoft has issued an extended warranty for just that problem. As long as you haven't owned your system for more than 3 years, you can call customer support, tell them the problem, and they will ship you a box to send your system back to them so they can either fix it or give you a new system as a replacement.

Why does my computer keep randomly shutting down?


That used to happen to me when too many applications or screens were left open. Turn it off completely after closing everything down. Give it a moment and start it up again. Just remember to ourge it and close things down on occasion, and hopefully that will help you. This was me using a MacAir, and the same in past on other laptops. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the computer display.

Per your description, I believe the display controller was damaged by the power surge. The laptop may need replacement of the display OR use it with an external display.

Freezing 360, vibrating controller, colored lines on screen.


3 red lights is the red ring of death, 4 means your AV cable is disconnected. If it freezes up though, you have a bad DVD player in it. I would send it back.

I log my details in and then it freezes with a blank screen - nothing !

Have you tried deleting stored cookies and temp internet files

If you are using Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer and click on the "Tools" menu.

In the "Tools" menu, click on "Internet Options".

The Internet Options pop-up window appears.

Under the General Tab select the "Delete Cookies" button.

Delete cookies by clicking "OK".
Select the "Delete Files" button to clear the Internet cache. Make sure to check the box to "Delete all offline content".

Delete temporary Internet file history data by selecting "Clear History".

Restart your computer and try to log in again, this should fix your problem

Archos 604 dvr blank screen


It sounds to me like there's an Component A/V cable issue. Please re-check the cable connections making sure they are connected correctly. When using the docking station and Component A/V cables you must be sure the cables are connected with their corresponding colors on the back of the DVR Docking Station. Also check that the format of the recording is compatible with the "TV Standard" in the settings menu of your Archos. It will be either NTSC (USA) or PAL (Europe). Be sure to check the Video Output Settings of the Archos to be sure it is set to the same type of cables you are using- component, RGB, s-video or composite. Good luck!

57xbr2....tv turns on briefly...solid color screen for a second...then blank?


I had the same problem about a 8 months ago. I searched online and found that there is a problem with one of the color guns. They need to be replaced. I don't remember where I found the information, but there is a number or something to call for this problem. I think that my authorized sony repair man knew of the problem, there are other models that have the same problem. Anyway, sony replaced all three guns in my tv FREE of charge, and my tv was no longer under warranty. They did all repairs and fixed my tv.

Constant white screen


check the brightness and contrast from the menu on the monitor try increasing it ... the problem will get solved...
if same problem persists contact ur near by experrt technician he may tell that the tube is gone he must recharge it....
