Could either be a gasket, or a cracked block.

I have a 2004 sportsman 400 flywheel i am woundering if it will fit a 1998 sportsman 500 not HO

Sorry but your 400 flywheel will not work on a 99 Sportsman. Even if it fits on the crankshaft and over the stator the magnets may not be in the correct position for ignition timing. It will fit a 99 Ranger but that doesn't help you much. If you have any other questions let me know, Daniel.

The rear end of the polaris does not stay in contact with bottom of pool

It sounds like there might be water in the head of your automatic pool cleaner. Take the head off and shake it. If you hear water sloshing around, you will need to replace the head.

Polaris 380 stays in the deep end only. What's wrong.

Make sure that you have enough hose to reach the entire pool. This sounds simple, but this is a common problem with these pool cleaners. Make sure all three thrust jets of water are working on the bottom of the pool, also.
