I had the same problem and I went to the first button on the monitor to the left(main menu) then with the button to the right (-) I scrolled down to factory reset. I also did the osd setting and I'm not sure what fixed it, but I havn't had the problem sence.

I have the Dell E156FP and have been having this problem. I have found (after much fiddling around) that you can fix this quite simply.
If you get the screen functioning (turn on with your computer) and go to the menu (button at the bottom of the bezel), go into factory reset and go into factory reset within that menu. A blue screen comes up and there is a timer at the bottom; go to reset timer and exit the menu.
Now the screen will turn off and you wont get a disco everytime you go into standby or turn off your PC!

I cant see colors red l

recheck the signal cable,

each pin on the cable carries a differant signal some just a clock some instructions for an entire color. check to ensure a solid connection on both ends of the cable and that the video card is secured in the machine.

if still no red then replace the cable, best buy 5-10 bucks saves you from buying a new monitor in frustration.

still no red replace the monitor.

How do i turn off power save mode using the screen buttons

I don't know if there is a monitor with a function button to turn off the power save mode.
As far as I know the power save mode of the monitor can be found in the display setting of the windows..

Anyway... If you want to turn off the power save mode of the monitor via windows display setting then here is what you need to do:

On control panel, double click display settings.. click the screen saver tab... on the lower portion Press the "power" button.. Select power schemes tab.. Change the settings of" turn the monitor off" to "never"
Click apply and then OK..

Hope it gave you an idea..
Much appreciated if you rate this help...thanks..

I have a dell monitor model e177fpv. It is stuck in power save mode. What do I do?

I have worked a great deal with the Dell E177fpv boards and when it is blinking power switch then it's bad. Most the time it's the C204,and C203 compositors that are bad (100uF 10v), and 70% of the time the C159,C154 ( 470 uF 25V are bad as well. now i have replaced them many of time and it had came back to life. i have also found other caps bad on it as well. i know you can order a new board for $39.00 and here is the link. http://www.lcdrepair.us/e177fpv_inverter-power.html
Good luck!

LCD Dell Monitor displaying purple and green rather then picture.

sounds like your monitor is starting to go out. if there are any speakers near your monitor, it is likely magnetic interference. try moving your monitor to a different area and see if it still does this. if it does, i would replace the monitor. if it doesn't, just simply reorganize the area around your monitor and it should go away after degaussing the screen.
