FIREWALL ERROR MESSEGE WHEN TRYING TO VIDEO CHAT

I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA..When I bring up the camera thru the control panel, the image displayed is great. Here's the problem. When I try to do live video with a messenger program such as AOL IM or MS Messenger, I can see myself in the lower left corner and my brother can see himself on his computer but neither of us can see each other. He doesn't have the problem with anyone else so I have to believe it's me. When I try to establish a video connection with him and he accepts, several seconds later I get an error message that says the connection cannot be made and there may be a firewall problem. I've disabled the router firewall, the Macafee firewall (it comes with Comcast, the ISP) and the Windows XP firewall. I still get the same error message. Any thoughts or suggestions on the problem?

Video calling not be done

The Acer Aspire netbook line comes with a webcam built in to the display panel. This webcam can be used with any software that can access the webcam, such as a video chat program. The cam is in use only when the appropriate software is loaded, so it's not active at all times. The webcam drivers are installed in your netbook, so it should work with most software.

Install a third-party application, such as Skype or Yahoo! Messenger, that offers video chat features. Launch the video chat or messaging software. Select video chat or video calls from within the application to activate your Acer Aspire netbook camera. The camera should load automatically when you select the right option in your third-party software. The camera output displays on your screen and your chat partner's.
b>Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble with your webcam Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices expand right click to update driver in W7 http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for IE: webcam name webcam driver you might have to try a few times to get it right software if you dont have the driver you will need to download one here rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html Windows XP/Vista/7/8 It might take some time being a freeware driver solution note: it will find all of your outdated drivers this is a free driver solutions This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10). http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Which-version-of-DirectX-is-on-your-computer Hope this helps.

How do i connect my laptop to my tv?

This one is typically an F key (function key operation) . Most computers are set by depressing the function key (fn) and the (f4) key together. this will bring up a screen that will ask you how you want to view. (ex. remote monitor, computer/remote monitor....etc.) Once you select that it will take a couple of seconds and the image will transfer.

Code 646 when trying to update

You need to disable your firewall. If you’re using McAfee Personal Firewall, or Norton Internet Security or another Firewall vendor, see vendor support page for assistance in disabling it (temporarily).

If you’re using the built-in Vista Firewall, keep reading.

- Open the Control Panel and select Security.

-Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

- Select Off (not recommended), click Apply and then OK.

- Back at the Windows Update screen, click the Try again button.

-The download(s) and installation should start…

-And this time successfully install. Now make sure to re-enable your Firewall once your PC restarts.

* Though this solution will work for most Vista Update errors.

The camera displays an inverted image on the LCD camera screen or when you view the image on windows vista? If it is Vista what program are you using to view the image? If it is the camera check the settings on the camera for the special effects settings and see if the image inversion setting is on. Ther could also be a problem with the LCD display on the camera.

Help, video hardware error

This seems like a windows power saver issue. One of the many settings for windows power options is the option of how long to remain idle before turning the monitor off. Issue is that XP and Vista both have issues recovering from this state. First solution to try is to turn off this setting. In either XP or Vista the power options can be accessed from either control panel or on the Screen Saver secton of the desktop personalization.
