Linksys Wireless-G WRT54GP2 continually "freezing"

If I simply remove and plug in the power cord, It starts working again. I have left it unplugged overnight which helped some, but it is still freezing.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for using fixya, the best way to have this stable is to reflash or update the firmware of your router. Linksys also offers free tech support at 1-800-546-5797. they will walk you through having it updated. Good luck

With regard to problems like this you will have to update the firmware on the unit. You can contact your VOIP provider who provided you with the router and have them update the firmware.

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router. It has been working fine. The power cord it is on was unplugged briefly last night. Now when I plug it back in, all the blue lights are flashing and I can't get...

have you tryed turning off computer, router, and modem if you have one. then unplug all connections from router (phone line, ethernet net cable and power cord). Then wait 2 min then plug all back in, and turn on modem, router, then computer. We lost power yesterday for 3 hrs and I needed to actually turn in all off and unplug power cords then turn it all back on to rest and reboot them to get them working properly. Hope it helps.

My linksys WRT54GP2 wont connect to my ps3 ive done everything write it keeps comming up to check my wireless settings what do i do

Have you tried connecting it through a wired connection? Although PS3 is wireless, it is generally a more stable connection when connected through a wired connection rather than wirelessly.

Power light blinking not working cannot re set

Was there any power flicker before it happened?

1. Reset the router by pressing the reset button of the router for 15 seconds while the power cord is plugged in and while the router is powered on.
2. Release Reset button after 15 seconds and unplug the power cord of the router then press the reset button again for 15 seconds.
3. After 15 seconds release the reset button and replug the power cord then press the reset button again for 15 seconds.

If this didn't work.
1. Plug the power cord to the router, and unplug it do this 7 times then reset for 15 seconds while it's unplugged and plug it back it and press the reset button for 15 seconds and release it. Try to check if there's any changes.

I need to complet my router setup

Have you secured your Linksys from unauthorized access?
The encryption code protects your wireless router from unauthorized access. The wireless card in your computer/laptop needs to be configured with the router's encryption settings before the computer/laptop can access the router.
For details on configuring the wireless router and the wireless card, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

I would like to know who is your internet service provider and would like to check if the router is configured with your ISP modem.
To configure for different ISPs here is the link

The links are there for setting up with DSL as well as cable modem. Do let me know if its working or not.
Thank you

My linksys router wrt54gp2 is having to be continually "reset". Any suggestions?

It sounds to me like your old router is starting to fail. If you have a computer running Peer-to-Peer sharing software like Limeware, or Bit-Torrents, they may cause it to freeze. If nothing like that is running, try another router to see if the new one fixes the issue.
