I still am unable to get paper out of top of copier. It cannot be reached. I can see it crinkled looking from the top, but when I start to get any paper at all it rips. Any suggestions? I have turned it off and on but still shows with paper jam.

    THANKS

paper jammed inside the upper roller and couldn't get it out - I pried open the top (black) and used a tweezer. It took me about 20 minutes, but I got it out. This is a major flaw for this printer.

Same thing. I looked at the top release lever in the photo and cannot find it on the printer. NO way to raise the top. This sours me on HP printers. I will need a new laser printer soon but I don't think it will be HP.

Top of the printer do not come off. it is clipped to the sides.
to access the output paper path, you need to remove all of the ink cartridges.

you can use nail filer, or something really thin, but strong enough to move the jam paper around, once you can get eh jam paper out from where it is, then you can get it out.

make sure you don't cut the paper roller using what ever tools you are using.

    I use thin metal ruler.

Printhead carriage jam facult is showing. No jam, I tried calling the help line. I still have the printhead error fault.

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

Paper jam

You are receiving this error message because there is a paper jam or the top (photo) tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize. This error message can appear for an ESP 7, ESP 9, ESP 7250, or ESP 9250 all-in-one printer.
To resolve a paper jam, we have an easy Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool. Within the tool, select All-in-one printer, then Paper jam.

When you clear the paper jam:
  1. Make sure you open the paper output tray and inspect the top tray for photo paper that could be jammed inside or that remains in the nip at the entrance.
  2. Pull out the bottom paper tray and clear any paper jams.
  3. Remove the duplexer from the back of the printer and clear any paper jam.
NOTE: Curled photo paper could induce a paper jam. To prevent curling:
  • Store un-printed paper in a tightly closed plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  • Store sealed packages of paper flat, and not on
  • When you are ready to print, take only the paper intend to use immediately.
To remove curl in photo paper:
  1. Place the paper in a plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  2. Gently bend the paper in the opposite direction of the curl, then insert it into a tube-a paper towel tube works well.

NOTE: The tube should be larger than 1.5 in. (4 cm) in diameter.
  3. After a few minutes, remove the paper from the tube.
  4. Remove the paper from the plastic bag or packaging.
  5. Verify that the curl has been removed from the paper. Repeat the steps above if necessary.
If the top paper tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize (you may hear a grinding noise, and the top paper tray will not open), contact Kodak.

Hi,
The paper jam could be in three places.
First:

Open the cover of fixing section, its above bypass, and check for jamed paper

Second:

Open the transfer cover, these cover has handle and it goes by pulling toward you, and check for jamed paper.

Third:

In hight of first paper cassette, on left sideway of copier, beaneath the bypass are small door, open it and check for paper jams. Be sure that you closed them properly because if they arent closed the check printer cover message will arrise.

Paper jam message does not clear after paper jam has been removed

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your copier
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the copier
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your copier

PAPER JAM WITH NO PAPER

This may be caused by a dirty sensor. Disconnect power supply, open the printer and clean everything. You may use toilet paper. Be careful not to leave fragments of toilet paper inside the printer.

look on the control panel if there is a diagram of your printer it will usually light up the area where the paper jam is located.

once you find location of paper jam there is normally a green knob in the area of jam that when you manually rotate it will release paper also open paper drawer check for jam or unplug and plug copier back in somtimes this will force paper out as it resets
