If this is your printer malfunctioning, most have a toolbox that will allow you to troubleshoot any problems.
If your printer is suddenly not taking paper correctly I would check for any obstructions within the printer such as a torn piece of paper, ink cartridge not correctly inserted etc.

Let me know if this helps, if not give me a bit more information on what kind or printer, computer etc. and I'll do my best to help you.

I have a gateway gm5626. Put a cd in and it sounds like it is going to load, but it just runs and runs. No error messages. Just nothing happens. I believe this happen a while ago and I found a website that...

You can right click on my computer, choose manage, then choose device manager. Take a look at the DVD/CD rom drives and expand the plus sign. Now double click on the drive that is giving you problems. Is there any indication that it is not working properly? You can use the troubleshooter there to help track down the cause of the problem...
Check to make sure the drivers are up to date, though in the case of a cd drive, the original drrivers from xp or vista should work.
Just for grins, make sure you've done the basic routine maintenance on your system, like disk cleanup and defrag. See MS help & how to here. or
Depending on the age of the system, it may be time to replace the cd drive. Here is alink to your user manual, though I can't see how that will help much with this issue. Perhaps this reference guide will help. See the section on troubleshooting cd or dvd drives.'
Finally, search the web for "troubleshoot cd drive". Much advice you will find, such as this link.
Your best bet, in the long run, may be to take it in to a local computer tech and have them install a new drive for you. For a few bucks you'll have a newer, more capable drive that works correctly.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

My computer is not working it will not turn off and all my icons are gone and my mouse isn't working

?Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

heres a tip

then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive you have to keep a computer very clean & free of dust and give it regular maintanance
as for the mouse control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot or select properties under driver you can update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot

then control panel mouse you can speed up the mouse and under pointer options you can also speed up the pointer
in xp
hope this helps

Freezes up

this could be caused by a number of things for you to check. maintanence is a key to keeping your computer running. keep your antivirus, antispyware up to date. keep your pc from overheating by taking a spray can of air to it (mind static electricity; after you unplug all wires from the pc and take the case off, touch the powersupply for 10 seconds to balance your electricity with the pc's so you don't fry anything.) hope this helps.

Small vertical lines in background

Very strange that the lines would appear on your prints aswell. Must be a faulty video adapter but I have no idea how this is getting to your paper - printer.

Get someone to look at the machine locally I don't think that we can solve this over the internet. thanks.

Hard disk drive suddenly full. I haven't seen this prob before

looks like virus infection

if u still can boot, save personal data, important driver files and sav-games to cd or extra drive like usb-stick, vir-scan it from a guarded system,

format original hd, build two partions, one primary smaller for os, progs and virtual memory,
other primary or extended for games and data
- use different log-in/accounts on occasion (one admin for installation and maintanance, another guest/ power user for games and internet)
- install games, antivir and firewall and progs from admin login, but surf and game with other log-in, this will make things safer

- make regular backups of your precious data

have fun!

Hi I have a Hitachi Travelstar Model: HTS548060M9AT00 DATED JAN 05 that was in my Windows 2000 Dell Laptop. When I try to start up. It starts clicking and then the computer says "boot...

Go to this site
and download either the bootable diskette image or the bootable CD image to create a bootable floppy or CD. Will needed a working computer to do this on and a working floppy or CD drive on the faulty computer. Once the troubleshooting floppy or CD is made, load it into your faulty computer and reboot that computer. If the bios on the fault computer is set to allow booting first from floppy or CD, the troubleshooting routine will be loaded by the computer as it boots up.
If you are interested in saving any data, do not format your faulty drive and do not write ' 0 ' s to the drive in the troubleshooting routine.
These troubleshooting routines will only work for Hatachi drives of your model series, waste of time to try to use them on other manufacturers' drives.
It sounds like your drive has met it's maker, the clicking you mention is normally a ' dead ' giveaway, but it may be possible that the Hatachi troubleshooting routine can help in some fashion.
Best of luck, you will probably need it.

From the microsoft support page, it suggests to uninstall the driver and and click on scan for hardware changes to re-install or upgrade the driver. Here is the page:

The driver returned failure from its DriverEntry routine. Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.

Brother mfc printer

Hi Lera,
In you brother suite you can go to the maintanence tab and do the nozzle clean and print head allignment.
After you do that print a test page, either from the suite on in the properties of your printer.
You can also do general maintanence from the LCD screen on the MFC.
Scroll through the menu and you will find there are options for head cleaning and nozzle allignment.
Hope this helps.
