Risograph 4200 RA - code E-61

Had a small paper jam while running, and now I'm getting an error code E-61 which says I'm installing the wrong drum unit. Are there any clear codes or ways to bypass this?

Also, what might the problem be?

Thanks for any help you can give!

It's the same drum unit that we've always used. I just slid the drum out to pull out the paper jam, and when I put it back in I got the error code E-61. I tried switching over to two different color drums thinking it might be a drum problem ... but it's not. They all come up with the same E-61 code.

The plastic white sensor switch on the right side (that moves up and down when you move the drum handle up and down) is toggling between the E-61 code and an E-52 code (drum unit not installed properly) when I move the handle up and down. It does this with all 3 drums I've tried so it's got to be an internal problem or maybe a bad switch / sensor?

I'm trying to find out if anyone knows an easy fix, or a clear code that will allow me to keep printing.

    Thanks again! - Mike

Somehow this is being incorrectly posted under RISO laser copiers, I guess? As the last person mentioned toner. Anyway, this is a Risograph RA4200, a large digital duplicator that uses ink and masters and prints more like a printing press. I was hoping to find a tech on here or maybe someone that had acess to a tech manuel for the machine. I'm certain it's not dust, or paper, or the wrong drum, or any screws loose, etc ... I'm fairly sure that the sensor or switch has gone bad. It will take a couple of days to get a tech out there, then they'll want to order the part and that will be a few more days, etc. I've seen techs key in codes that can bypass or turn off certain sensors and switches on the machine. That's what I'm really looking for, if anyone knows a specific code to disable that sensor as the machine will not run because it thinks I have the wrong drum in there. Thanks again in advance if anyone knows a code.

To clear this error you will have to insert 1 more drum unit as when it will detect the new.u can remove the new and again insert old and it will work.as the printer has detected that this drum unit is rejected so its just telling to replace or not installed properly still after u install it properly.this is very much trouble thing in this machines.u have to go through this procedures.

Also make sure there are no small pieces of paper in the unit this can cause issues as well. Can of compressed air will help with clearing some of these. Some will need to be removed by hand.

I would suggest to use the original drum or matching model. Does the current installed drum match the original drum or recommened model?

Unplug the printer from power, remove the drum unit , put it back in place. This should fix the problem, unless the drum is really faulty.

There are also sensors to which the drum connects, they look like metal plate contacts, ensure that they are not dirty with toner, a dirty contact may cause the drum not being recognized.

Try first unplugging from power for ten minutes, and refitting the drum.

If that does not work do a complete cleanup of the printer, see: Clean your laser printer safely with these tips

Canon IR3530 jamming

Hi, lets go from begining:
1) Remove rollers from lower cass, and put them on first cass. Use fresh paper too. - Does it helps? try abaut 50 copies. If helps replace rollers.
FB6-3405 x1, FC6-6661 X1, FC6-7083 X1
2) when you open right lower door and right door you will be able to see axis with two small rollers.Clean it verry well, use alcohol.
3) On lower right door there must be metal plate for pressure on delivery roller, if there is no plate, put in each corner some tape or filc 2-3mm thick, wich will add pressure on plastic paper cover wich guides paper on delivery roller.
4) Does your jamed paper have any anomalities on itself, like: look like accordian, small wrinkles,...
If yes, check separation plate on fixing unit, pressure of rollers ( between fixing film and press. roller - NIP CHECK ).
5) Beaneath drum you will see small plastic sensor flapper - is he worn out? This is paper registration sensor, if he get in first position before the paper pass him you will get jam code.

Note:
Try to flip paper in cassete, up side down, and try then. If then works, the problem is in moisture on paper.

Hope that helped

Xerox Phaser 8400 Error code 07,010.43:99907

You manually rotated the aluminum drum? Since you did that, I would suspect you have the print head wiper blade stuck between the drum and print head. The code you are getting it caused by the print head not being able to move freely.
The jamming is probably due to a bad registration clutch. Common failure on that machine.
You can go to Xerox.com, there is under documentation and drivers a parts list for that machine. You can reference the wiper blade and get the clutch part number there.
Let me know what other information you may need. I will be glad to help you get it running again.

H5-01 indicates tha the paper sensor is defective in the fusing unit. The only way you can try to reset that one is buy turning the power off, wait 30 seconds and turn the power back on.

If the error code returns the fusing unit will have to be fixed to take care of the paper sensor.

E2 Paper Jam code flashing .... but no paper jam!

There is a small sensor on the fuser that most likely has become disloged. It requires a lot of disassembly to get to.
But an E2 code is that sensor not being cleared off. It pops out of the frame sometimes during paper removal.
