Acme juicer #6001, has a new blade, becomes unbalanced...

I've had the juicer for 10years, never had a problem. In December, 2008, I replaced the blade and it now becomes unbalanced when I juice the first item. I run apples, carrots, and beets through it. It is not unbalanced while it is empty, but becomes so when I add a vegetable. It then gets noisy, and begins to move all over the counter top.

Hello, First, make sure the screw on clamp that holds the blade down is centering the blade correctly. Also make sure it tightens down firmly against the blade. Wiggle the blade to ensure it is mounted securely. If this doesn' fix it try your old blade again. If your old blade works you may have a bad, unbalance blade but I would suspect he screw on clamp knob may be somewhat worn and not securing the blade causing it to run "out of round" when a piece of vegetable pushes on it. If everything looks good with both blades and the blade securing knob it could be a worn bearing on the juicer. Try wiggling the motor shaft and see if there is any play in it. I have an ACME 6001 that is quite old so I wouldn't suspect the bearings are going. One other thing, does the bowl take 3 to 5 minutes to stop spinning when you shut off the motor? If it does then the shaft and bearing are probalby ok

Good luck with it...gary

Same problem. Only thing I can think of is
old and duller blade feeds pulp through
slower and more evenly. With new blade
I noticed uneven distribution of pulp around
basket, so have to feed produce very slowly
to keep juicer from flying off the counter.

Just adding to my previous post. Well it's definitely the new blade that is causing the vibration.
I also installed old blade and no vibration problem. I believe the situation with the new blade
is it's shreds too aggressively and due to the higher cutting burrs the gap between the chute
and blade is wider after adjustment. This causes the pulp to feed through too quickly and
unevenly throwing the basket out of balance. My solution was to file the burrs down to lower
the blade profile. Then with the juicer fully assembled unlock the set screw, located on the
center of the bottom, turn it clockwise until the chute contacts the blade and back it off a
half turn. The juicer will shred a little more slowly but at least it won't dance off your counter top.

I bought a used Acme Juicer 6001 and when it starts working it's ok, but after 1 or 2 minutes, it starts vibrating and goes like crazy. I only put shopped vegetables, like cucumbers, apples, celery, and...

Just the opposite. The only way I get by the vibration is with an old worn blade which
I sharpen with a drill using a small bit. Installed a new blade, once, and the juicer took
off on me. Even the pro's have trouble with the vibration issue. If trouble persists, try
a pulp ejecting type.

My #6001 juicer ( old!!) will make a very loud sound even after only 3 carrots.. causing me to stop and clean out pulp.. even may shake more than usual... so am thinking it should need an overhaul??? I...

No overhaul. These juicers do not eject the pulp and are subject to vibration especially if you
install a new blade. I've had one for 21 years and get by using a worn blade which I sharpen
with an electric drill using a small bit.

Just google Acme juicer parts. The new lids are a tight fit and
have to be filed down if you're handy.

SHREDDER BLADE, where can I find it for the ACME Juicerator model 6001?My email address is: peguero59@gmail.com

Contact waring directly or just google juicer parts. Believe Omega
juicers share same blade and it's cheaper. If your handy you can
sharpen you old blade by drilling, at an angle, into the face of each
burr on the blade. Use a 1/16 or 5/64 bit and do it ever so slightly.

Acme juicer vibrating so much.

I've had one for 21 years and when I replaced the blade the same thing happened.
The blade is not supposed to be held firmly in place so it can slip intentionally to
minimize vibration. If you bought the juicer new, think back, and I believe you will
remember the vibration problem. I seems with a worn blade they vibrate less. The
motor is very durable and uses roller bearings like on a skate board. I went back
to the old blade, which I sharpen with a drill using a small bit.

Acme 6001 Juicer manual

Acme no longer makes the juicers, but Waring now makes them. Here is a link to their website. I could not find the manual on their site, but perhaps you could email them and ask them where you can get one. They do sell the filters and a replacment cutting blade for the Juicerator 6001
