Xerox WorkCentre PE120i - Paper Jam 1

While printing an envelope, I pushed it back and tear it.
I removed the part of the envelope I was pushing and the teared part from inside. There is no paper anywhere to be seen inside.
The machine reports persistently a "Paper Jam 1" ("Open/Close Door"). Even after opening/closing the door, turning it off, disconnecting from power.
I have seen your answer regarding some sensor on the bottom of the machine. I can't find it, or know what is its' visual appearance. Can it be a/the solution?
Xerox estimates this as an 130 € repair.
TIA.

I have seen that suggested elsewhere, and solved it like that, with card stock. This Xerox doesn't [Print] with the jam, one has to force feed it.

    Thanks.

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

How do i adjust the printer to the tear off position

Print a config label by holding the cancel button and powering on 15seconds. Check print mode = tear off. If it is in rewind mode the label stops under the print head and does not backfeed before printing. Tear off pushes the perf to the tear bar and backfeeds before printing.

We had a power failure and now our Lexmark 2391 dot matrix printer will not print from the top of the page. i need to know how to setup/reconfigure the top of the page? thank you

  1. Push the ALT button and then the PARK LOAD button to back the paper out.
  2. Push the PARK LOAD button to reload the paper. The Ready light should now be blinking.
  3. Use the MICRO up or down buttons to adjust as needed, making sure that the top of form is set on the very first page that enters the printer. Typically, the top edge of the first sheet of paper should be even with the ribbon.
  4. When the page is lined up properly, press the START/STOP button. The printer will record the current position as the top of form and then feed paper to the tear off position.
  5. Use the MICRO up and down buttons to place the top of the paper at the tear off bar.
  6. After the tear off is positioned properly, press the START/STOP button twice to save the tear off position.
  7. Test the positions with a sample print job. If the alignment is still off, follow this entire procedure from the beginning again as needed.

Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn off the product. 3. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product. 4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 5. Turn the product around so that you can access the rear side. 6. Push in the button on either side of the two-sided printing accessory (duplexer), and then remove the duplexer. 7. Gently remove any jammed paper or bits of torn paper from the rollers inside the product. Use both hands to pull any whole sheets of paper to avoid tearing them. 8. If you do not see jammed paper in the rear access area, push the buttons on the latch on the rear of the duplexer, and then lower the cover. 9. Remove any jammed paper from inside the duplexer. 10. Close the duplexer cover. 11. Gently push the duplexer into the product until it snaps firmly into place. Do not press the buttons on the end of the accessory while you reattach it. 12. HP c6180 photosmart all in one printer jam

On the back of the printer there's a door.

Depress the latch and remove the door. This will give you easy access to the rollers and should give you enough space to remove any remaining paper from the jam.

Best of luck!
