Question about RCA F32450 32" TV

1 Answer

F20530WN 08/1991 When the TV is turned on it soon starts powering off, then on, and will continue doing so until the user turns it off. I have an old JVC 35" TV (mid-1990's) that did the same thing. I was able to replace a capacitor on the circuit board, and it has been working for over a year now. Could the RCA have a similar solution?

Re: F20530WN 08/1991

Well, we have a FPR725ER RCA ColorTrak tv from 1987 and we had the same problem in 1997 I believe... It cost over 100 dollars to fix but it was worth it. (not positive what was wrong with it, I suggest you just talk to a tv repair shop. RCA'S of that era are WORTH spending money to repair, those RCA's will last a lifetime if your willing to spend a tiny bit) (coinicidence - I have that same tv your talking about too! the F20F30WN)

Connecting direct tv todvr to a2005 20 inchrca sdtv channel code

1. Using Programming Codes

Find the TV code for your TV in the list from the Platinum Remote Control User's Guide (See References). For example, if you have a Kenwood TV, the three possible codes to try are 506, 573 and 712.

Press the "TV" button on the remote. Hold down the button until the "Sat," "VCR" and "Aux" buttons light up. Release the "TV" button and it will be flashing.

Enter the first code using the keypad. If you want the remote to control all functions on the TV, enter the code and press the # key. The "TV" button will flash three times.

Press the power button to turn off the TV and turn it back on again. If the code was correct, the TV will turn off and on. If the TV doesn't power down or back on, follow Step 6.

Try the next code from the list. Follow Steps 2 through 4 using each code until one turns off the TV.
2. Programming Without Codes

Press the "TV" button on the remote. Hold down the button until the "Sat," "VCR" and "Aux" buttons light up. Release the "TV" button and it will be flashing.

Press and release the "Power" button on the remote.

Press the arrow up key and stop. If the TV doesn't turn off, press the arrow up key again. Continue pressing the arrow up key until the TV turns off. Do not go fast when moving through the codes or you could miss the correct code. Press the arrow key and wait at least 20 seconds to see if the code works before pressing the arrow key again.

Press the # key on the remote when the TV turns off to lock in the code.

Our CAL232 TV will not turn on. When pressing the power button, you can see a red light and a green light, but the screen doesn't start up as normal. The TV then tries again after about 20 seconds, but...

My LOEWE CAL 232 will not power up. When the power button is pressed, the monitor turns on, with the LOEWE on the monitor, then the TV continues with the previous activity (antenna, DVD, VCR etc.). Now all that happens is

1. the red light comes on

2.after about 1 second the green light turns on for about 12 seconds

3. the the green light turns off for about 1 second

4. then the green light turns on again for about 12 seconds

and this continues until the power button is pressed to turn the TV off. During this time, the monitor does not turn on and the only sound I hear seems to eminate from the power button.

Any thoughts?

Sony Trinitron KV-1975R TV won't turn... Relay problem ?

O'boy do you have it bad-
normally I would say get a new T.V. but in this case I would surggest you find a very good MAN,in your area- where he would clean the inside of your t.v.(I knew 1 who use to do this with a toothbrush),and he should also replace/spray your relay switch which sounds like its on its way out. the old ones are the best ones I have an old b&w tv myself that belong to my graddad still working even do its slowy getting out of date with all the digatil now.but I'll find some use for it - best of luck with the old girl..P.

Cant turn off panasonic PIP

To turn off the "stuck" pip on a Panasonic tv without a remote, turn off the tv. Then hold down the "Action" button on the front of the tv and press the power button. This will activate a reset and self check of the systems and voila! The pesky pip screen will be gone! This is on an approximately 10 year old regular crt "CT-xxxxx" series tv.

Tv will not power up

no reset button ,sorry. The problem you describe is pretty common with this model as its a fault in the horizontal drive circuit or in the main power supply and without the proper service manual as well as the prober tools and equipment this set its not gonna get fixed. there are no panels or user changable boards as it is a solid state set. could repair this board or exchange it with a referbished board but it would still requir some adjustment that a user may not be able to handle. time to call the pro.. Sorry couldnet help ya more.. Good Luck.
