Question about Compaq Presario SR1000T (568657) PC Desktop
I have a Compaq Presario SR2050NX. I just got it from a friends and I am having trouble with my speakers. They are from my eMachines computer and the model number for them is sp-30a. The speakers are plugged in and work fine with my emachines desktop but not with the Compaq. I'm running Windows XP. In the control panel, under sounds and audio devices, it says there is no audio device, and the options for speaker settings or volume are all greyed out. Can someone help me figure out how to get my speakers to work? Thank you kind sir or madam who can help me.
There should be something in your sound, video, and game controllers that says something like "Realtek High Definition Audio". Double click on that, and make sure that it is enabled. If this entry is completely missing, reboot, and enter the BIOS setup (I'm not sure how that works on your specific PC) and make sure that the onboard sound is enabled there.
