JVC kd-r332 settings keep resetting after unit is turned off

I had this exact same problem - in my case caused by the wire that should provide a continuous feed so the unit can keep its settings actually being from the ignition switch, and the continuous feed wire being connected to the terminal that should be from the ignition switch! I had a red wire (continuous feed) and a yellow wire (ignition activated feed) feeding to the back of the unit, and all I did was to switch these over - both wires had their own connectors let into the wires a few inches from the unit so that switch over job was easy. Works as it should now, although i have a grazed knuckle as the wires leading to the plug at the back were a bit too short! Chris

My car cd does not remember my settings. i allways need to adjust his settings

There are 2 battery feeds to your radio ...The main one via the ignition switch and the permanent one which feeds the memory.

It looks as though the permanent battery is missing.

Check the connector , wiring or the fuse

Re-wire stereo in rover 400 cant find power wire

The following should be right, unless your car has different wiring colours, there are a few variants...

Yellow and Red = Switched +'ve feed from the ignition
White and Blue = Permanent +'ve feed
Black = Earth (-'ve)
Red and Black = is for the illumination when sidelights are switched on

If the above doesn't work join the following MG-Rover forum: www.mg-rover.org And add me as the referer: HotTubRepairer

The video feed isn't happening.

this is most likely a resolution thing, if you are switching tvs and one resolution is higher than the other, if this happens when you start the box up hold down the right trigger and the "Y" button, this will reset the resolution to the default settings

you will need to reset all info each time you power off the unit if you dont connect thas feed, and in some units will not work fully, your car should have a switched power feed from the ignition switch and an aux ( permenant feed ) if not that u can just run it from any permenant feed inc the battery

Radio and dvd player and brake lights have all

YOU SHOULD HAVE 2 POWER FEEDS TO BACK OF HEAD UNIT, ONE IS SWITCHED OFF IGN AND ONE CONSTENT, WITH THE GALAXY ITS WIRED LIKE A vw/seat SO IF YOU HAVE FITTED A NON FORD UNIT THEN YOU NEED TO SWITCH THE RED AND YELLOW FEED AT THE REAR OF THE HEAD UNT. CHECK YOU HAVE 2 FEEDS GOING TO THE REAR, IF ONLY GETTING 1 YOU MAY HAVE A FUSE GONE, CHECK BOX UNDER DASH AND THE OTHER ONE UNDER HOOD/BONNET

have you recently installed this unit...if so, it sounds like you have not connected the constant live feed wire......there are 2 live wires, one only activates when you switch on the ignition, this is called , a " switched live feed "...the other stays live when you swith off the ignition, this is the " constant feed live "...this feeds the memory while ignition is off.. check the connections, and i think you will find this is the problem....

Loosing all ive saved when i turn the engine off

Easy fix, There are two 12+ volt feeds that should be connected to your unit.
1. Constant feed = 12+ volts that supplies power to the units memory all the time. This wire can be connected from the original radio connector wiring so long as it supplies constant 12+ volts, or be pulled from the battery, with an in-line fuse.
2. Switched feed = 12+ volts that only supplies power when the ignition switch is turned on,This wire can also be connected from the original radio connector wiring so long as it is a switched feed, also with an in-line fuse.
During installation ether these wires were swapped or the constant feed (memory wire) was not connected.
Good luck...
