SOURCE: riding mower won't start

Test before you replace! Check the ground cable. Make sure it is clean and tight. Check all connections for the same. I have to assume that you made sure the new battery was charged...Check all of your safety switches. Check the connection to the starter. Good luuck...Lee

the reason it sheard off is because you did not put the blade on right.
you have to hold blade in position untill you turn nut all the way up and make sure blade has the star part in the blade when you tighten it.
you have to buy a new shaft most come with the lower bearing on them.

I replaced the battery , and now the starter engages when I try to attach the positive cable

Yes, the solenoid gear teeth are jammed. For a temporary fix, you may try tapping on it with a hammer on the side of the cylinder to unjam it temporarily. Replace the solenoid. It's easier to install it and have the entire starter checked by a starter rebuild shop to assure our good guess solves your problem.

My husqvarna riding mower wont start it just makes clicking noise i replaced my battery and it does the same thing

Check for proper voltage at the starter terminal. If there your starter is bad.

Assuming the battery and it's connections are okay, it sounds as though you have a bad solenoid in the starter. I replaced my starter, but I think perhaps you could get a solenoid rebuild kit from an auto parts store. When I pulled my old starter apart, it was obvious where the problem was. I hope this answers your question.

Husqvarna YTH20K46 no power. HELP!

Not turning off sounds like an ignition switch problem. Not starting - then I think you should check the Low Tension side of the solenoid again to make sure there is current from the switch. If the solenoid's OK, the battery's fully charged with all the connections clean and tight, then it has to be the starter motor or engine. Check you can turn the engine by hand, if so then I would guess, it's probably the starter motor.
Good Luck

AS YOU HAVE CHANGED ALL OF THESE COMPONENTS TO NO AVAIL IT HAS TO BE A BREAK IN THE WIREING ITSELF, YOU WILL HAVE TO FOLLOW THE WIREING WITH A MULTI METER TO FIND WHERE THE POWER IS LOST.

My aero star wont turn over even when jump start it ignition makes a clicking sound i changed selenoid help

Your starter is at fault here. If you want to check it, just hit (not to hard!) your starter with a hammer on the housing. if it starts, the starter must be replaced.

Will not start

clean and tighten all connections from the positive cable all the way to the starter and selenoid connections too and try jumping the selenoid across and see if that kicks the starter over if it does that means the selenoid is bad

My pick-up truck wont start it had a bad starter so i replaced the starter, then the battery died....but in the same day...i decided to just use other truck and give it a jump start, but my truck was only...

Based on your description, the starter selenoid is not getting enough juice (current) to pull up solidly. So, causes are:
1. Low battery voltage
2. bad connection of battery+ at the battery or at the selenoid terminal.
3. bad ground connection between the starter selenoid and the truck chassis.

If you want to bypass the selenoid, you can place a jumper cable on the "FAR" side of the selenoid (the side that feeds the starter). Then momentarily touch the other end of the jumper to the battery + terminal.

If the starter cranks, then you have confirmed the selenoid as problematic. Remove it and either replace it or disassemble and clean it.

Won't crank--some kind of electrical problem

Disconnect the (battery) starter cable and check with a multimeter the continuity of the starter relay thru the relay terminals which connect the battery to the starter (key will have to be turned to start) -- if you get continuity, it's likely not the relay, but I'm with you, it sure sounds like the relay (solenoid).

P.S. Running a starter directly off a charger is a good way to burn up a charger.
