Skipping stitches

Skipped stitches
1. A bent or dull needle
2. The wrong needle for your fabric
knit fabrics require a jersey or ballpoint tip. Most wovens do well with a universal tip, and specialty fibers, like leather or metallic, usually require specific needles.
3. Incorrect machine threading
4. Unbalanced needle thread tension
Start by making relatively small changes and run a test stitch to evaluate the impact. If you need to adjust the tension dial using woven cotton fabric with good quality all-purpose thread and a new needle
5.check the needle is inserted correctly. The needle needs to be pushed as far up the needle shaft as possible. It's easy to insert the needle half way, clamp it down and think it is inserted correctly.
the flat part of the needle should be positioned towards the back. If the needle is not inserted correctly, it will not be able to pull up the bobbin thread and will cause skipped stitches.
6. If the suggestions don't help then it is time for a tune-up.

Why is my singer 9015 skipping stitches, particularly on zig zag setting???

There are several possibilities for skipped stitches. A needle that is dull or bent; using a ball point needle when a sharp should be used, such as a woven fabric, the needle is not all the way up in the needle clamp; the needle was not inserted with the flat side in the correct position (unless your bobbin case is on the side of the machine, that's toward the back), or the top thread and or bobbin thread is not threaded correctly.

Singer 14u34b

Assuming that your rethreading specially the upper looper and the lower looper threads tension is accurate, and still problem in getting the left/right needle to stitch then most likely looper/thread timing is out. This will need your local technician to do the adjustment.

Skipping Stitches My Singer Confidence machine is skipping stitches. I've cleaned the feed dogs and the stitch hook, changed needles three times, changed thread, adjusted the tension, etc.

Skipped stitches

1. The needle is not inserted correctly

Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)

2. The needle is damaged

replace with new needle

3. The wrong size needle is being used

Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric

4. The foot not attached correctly

Check & attach correctly

5. If the above suggestions don't help then the machine needs to be checked

For a timing problem.

Could not adjust both looper thread tention on singer ultralock

When servicing these machines I have found that the cover over the tensioners needs to be removed so you can see if there is more adjusting possible. If its a newer serger you would hold the knob somewhere in the middle (4-5) and adjust the knurled part that goes through it. Many times I have had to rebuild these tensioners as they get dirty and need cleaning and adjusting. It may take many tries until you have it adjusting correctly. But it needs to be done.

Stitching to loose

There are many websites from were you can download manuals. Just type "sewing machine manuals" in gooooooogle and they will list them. The cheapest option is 10 US dollars in pdf. format.

Your looper tension is not correct. Make sure the cotton is between the tension disks by pulling down on the thread when you thread the machine.
