Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

1 Answer

I cannot get my honeywell cw 61 to heat above 20°but I need 24°

My thermostat was installed 10 years ago but functioned well until we were hit with very cold weather, minus 4 and more. I cannot find the original guide which would be most useful. Could you indicate if there is a possibility of getting a copy of the instructions guide and from a Honeywell center in Europe please? Thank you for any help you can give me. John Hugh C

At www.honeywell.com/yourhome there is an owners manual and literature search on the right side of the page close to the middle where you can search for and download PDF versions of their owners manuals.

I installed a new Honeywell RTH74/75 series thermostat and it has the incorrect day displayed.

Yes it will reset itself when you do that, it really should not be too hard to figure out the day.

My Honeywell thermostat won't set the heat above 75 degrees

ok fist thing is to press and hold the middle lower button and the arrow up at the same time and hold until the screen changes to a number. keep hitting next until you see 75 appear then arrow up to the temp you want and press done. That easy!

Temperature fluctuates

Actually that thermostat is adjustable for only +/- 1 degree. I would make sure it is located close to a radiator/register, whichever you have, to help close that 8 degree variance. The thing about hot water heat is that even when the boiler shuts down those radiators are still putting off heat, so the temp can still shoot up a few more degrees after the stat has been satisfied. Is the boiler shutting down when the stat hits 71* ? If not then the stat may be bad. Honeywell carries a 5 year replacement warranty on that stat. I use the Honeywell Focus stats in almost all my installations. They are a very dependable thermostat. Feel free to ask anything else that will help solve your problem...Rob

Honeywell UtilityPRO thermostat backlight won't go off

After posting that I was having the same problem, I found a solution.
I used these instructions http://www.hydro-temp.com/help/drawings/honeywell%2069-1894ES.pdf and followed the Installer Setup on pages 6 through 10. Basically you just need to enter the setup mode following the instructions, scroll to setting# 280 and change the setting from "1" to "0" then the backlight will turn off after 8 seconds. Don't change any other settings if you don't know what you are doing.

Honeywell T86A3006 24V Class 2 Round thermostat 8020

The honeywell tradeline thermostat would work as a direct replacement (no mercury in the new ones), however if your using just heaters and no cooling system off of it, you could Heat only thermostat from honeywell that would replace your unit as well. Both at available at Ace Hardware with the heat only unity being roughly 7 dollars cheaper.

Solution #2 as above worked (thank you very much!) to get to the programming mode, but on mine keeping Function #13 on the default setting of "0" maintained the AIR.  Toggling the Temp button to "1" changed the system to conventional on/off at the programmed times.
