Question about Xerox Tektronix Phaser 850N Laser Printer
I have a Phaser 850N and 850DP. My DP started having all kinds of problems, so I made the N my primary printer. Since I was only going to use the 1 printer, I took the memory from the DP and put it into the N, bringing total memory to 256. For the first few days, every time I printed it would kick up a filed to print box, but after a couple of minutes, would print the file. Now, it still kicks the fail to print box, takes almost 3 minutes and then prints a partial file (as in, part of the page will print and leave blank info throughout), then a second page of nonsense command codes. I've put both memory bars in together before, not sure why it's doing this now. Any clues?
Could be defective memory module. Try taking the RAM back out. You can get replacement RAM from Crucial. You can make your N into a DP by switching the NVRAM chip (or the complete main board).
