Question about Lexmark X83 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Lexmark x83 problems

I just finished uninstalling the printer from my PC and reinstalling using the original cd.This didn't didn't seem to make any difference. The color cartridge does not apprear in the cartridge tab of the control panel and no color is printed while the black cartridge does appears and prints great! Could there be something else I have to do on the cartridge slot of the printer because of the ink I had to clean off!

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Lexmark X1240: tried to uninstall and reinstall


Please make sure that the printer is actually VISTA compatible (it should say it on the box) If it is compatible then there is a good chance that the drivers need to be updated. (even if you just bought it) Your first option would be to download the driver directly from Lexmark.com (forget the CD that came with it) Your other option is to download the drivers for LEXMARK X1250 (I have tried this many times with other printers and they worked just fine) I have also used these two web sites to download the drivers for other printers and it seems to work ok so far. Uninstall a printer


Greetings,
I beleive when you say that you tried to reinstall it you tried it by going to Control Panel-Add remove programme. In case it is uninstalled from there goto C:\ drive - programme files and then delete the folder for Lexmark coz that might still initialize everytime comp restrts. This should take care of your concern.

Alternatively you can try msconfig.

be sure to delete your printer and reinstall the printer cd back again but be sure there is only one printer install on your control panel .

Cannot connect my printer to my computer

Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
· Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

This is the problem with the cartridge if you brought original Lexmark cartridge you can get it exchanged as the cartridge is nay be defective and the cartridge comes with one year warranty...........................................

Lexmark x83 carrier stall

Use the above link to trouble shoot the problem.

Error: "Carrier Stall" ID:470

To check the cartridge carrier:

1. Unplug the printer.
2. Move the cartridges to the left by hand and then take them out.
3. Try to print without the cartridges in the carrier. Do you still receive a Carrier Stall error message?
4. If not, put the cartridges back into the carrier and snap them in at the back. The message should no longer appear.

If the power light on the printer is not blinking, the error message may be caused by a communication error. Do the following:

1. Remove any other devices attached to the USB/LPT port.
2. Uninstall the Lexmark printer.
3. Connect the printer directly to the PC and ensure that power is being supplied to the printer.
4. Reinstall the printer.
