Question about Computers & Internet
G'day, I'm here wondering with my Asus x52j about the power supply. It is something internal nothing to do with the charger, it's something to do with the actual charger port or power circuit (don't know what it's called on a laptop) and I was wondering if someone can give me some tips on what to look for parts wise to get this repaired, I am able to do it myself I just need to know what to be looking for.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: asus a9rp power problem
Not a solution...
I experience the same problem with this laptop.
It appears not to happen if the battery is removed for a while (5-10 min) and you turn it on with the power comming from mains...

SOURCE: asus A6R -No power at all
yes repairing laptops is tricky, not like a desktop pc, so that sounds about right, and yes the port on the back where the power plugs in will wear out and break. thus not charging your battery no matter what power adaptor you use. so yes ask them if they offer a no fix no fee policy on that repair. and when they do fix it. check what warrenty the repair comes with. other than that it sounds fine to me.

SOURCE: charger port not working.
I worked as a computer tech for 20+ years, and I still hate taking laptops apart. I strongly suggest you take it to someone who knows what they're doing, or you might end up with a useless pile of parts.

If the pc is fully charged, dont leave it plugged in. Mine gets hot but I've experienced ones that were hot to-the-touch...I'd say be careful leaving it on charge when you are not at home.
