SOURCE: RCA DRC-285 DVD Player won't respond

hi, 2 things usually cause this kind of behaviour 1-the dvd+r have been burnt at a high speed 2-the dvd player itself is a bit old when you burn your dvd+R always burn them at a lower speed lowest if possible it'll take longer but it's well worth it and you wouldn't have a problem playing them back

SOURCE: Unit totally locked up

I called the secondary 800# as the number in the manual has a recording for "if you are calling about the drc8335 call 877-805-0519" how bout it? A separate number just for this unit?

The guy said to unplug the unit for at least 30 MINUTES & that I would have to rescan in all the channels I have spent alot of time scanning in by rotation of the antenna. Geezzz I wish I had returned it to the store before the 90days were up... (price has dropped below $150 was 219 last year?)

SOURCE: rca dvd\vcr locked on hello

The hello issue is most likely a faulty DVD-RW. These go out on thse models more than usual. Reset is a combination of 2 buttons. Press and hold the play and disk tray open or the power and play ( i forgot the exact sequence but you get my drift, press 2 buttons for about 10 seconds). You can also update the firmware...or atleast could before from RCA.COM but they no longer support this midel. I do have the software update on CD but it won't do any good on Hello issue. If worst comes to worst, open the player up and replace the DVD-RW drive.

SOURCE: RCA DRC8312 DVD/VCR player is stuck on Hello

Faulty power-supply symptoms:

The front panel display and buttons are completely nonfunctional and appear dead. The unit will do nothing more than display the following messages on the TV screen:

Interface error
(and or)
Interface error! Turn off the power

If a DVD or VHS tape was inserted prior to the error occurring, you won't be able to eject either from that point further. They'll remain stuck inside the unit until you've completed the repair detailed below.

Interface error! Turn off the power <--- explains how to completely restore your combo in less than 20 minutes by replacing a $1.59 part on the power-supply board. mikeadams110@yahoo.com

How do i record with my dvd player/recorder?

You have to go to Menu Page select timers and from there you can record your programs to record at any time. If you are watching something you want to record click on REC on remote it should have a little red dot on the button, then it will take you to where you program how long you want to record.

Hope this helps Donna

How do i connect dvd player to dvd recorder

you need a tri-color (red, white & yellow) rca cable wire w/ gold tips.....either on the front or back of dvd-rec ....connect wire to the in (line 1 or line 2) coming from the play out on the dvd-player....your dvd rec is still connected to the tv right...on the dvd rec using remote select line 1 or 2 which ever is connected...(test..by playing a dvd in the player..if you see the picture plus hear the audio this means its connected correctly and can be recorded)...note some Disney dvds are not recordable...hope this is helpful.............feel free to rate

My Magnavox MWR20V6

If unit is still under warranty return it. If unit is still sold at the orginal place of purchase buy another and return the first one stating it wont work and get a refund
1) power source is good? (receptical on the wall or power unit. Locate DVD rec. to another receptical and check Rec. again)
2) power cord going to unit is good, no cuts or melted spots
3) power setting on unit is correct (small red slide type buttong for different country voltage settings)
4) internal fuse, change it even if it doesn't look bad.
5) Weigh the cost of a new one to the repair cost of the old one. If you buy a new one get a good brand RCA is still one of best and longest lasting.

Sansui SAN0901 DVD Recorder - Power Problem

Hi Pandjoy,
I have been struggling with the same problem and almost rebuilt the power supply before finding the solution. In my case it was a faulty capacitor-C4, next to the diode D4. Replacing C4 and the machine performed as new. I hope this helps. Cheers
