Question about Boating
I have a 96 evinrude 150 that seems to have a timing or a fuel problem. she will not stay running unless i squeeze the fuel ball every 15-25 seconds. i have a clear fuel filter that i can watch the gas disapear from when i rev her up and not be replaced. i have all new fuel lines, filters and clamps. also the pump makes no noise when i turn the key to the first position...
Going to sound silly, but is the fuel filter properly installed? I've seen this happen when the fuel filter was installed upside down. In other words, the arrow showing flow of fuel was pointed in the wrong direction. If the fuel ball is collapsing, it could be a vacuum lock problem. Try it with the gas cap loosened and see if that helps - it could be 'too airtight' and creating a vacuum, which cuts off fuel supply.
