3D Games are very processor intensive and combined with your graphics card can produce a lot of heat. Check the temperature of the CPU, it is probably too hot. You will have to check online to find the max temp of your specific processor. To check the temparature you can either use a program like sisoft SANDRA ($$$) or speedfan (FREE), or when your PC restarts, you can go into your bios setup and find your internal temperatures there. If it is too hot, open the case and make sure that the inside is not blanketed with dust. Speedfan will tell you how fast your fans are spinning, and you may need to replace one, or add one. I am nearly certain that the resets are caused by overheating...how to go about cooling it is another problem altogether.

wow, that's an awful lot of fans for a 600w PSU...if you're sure that 600w is enough (you can find power calculators online) then I would run a RAM tester. BSODs are often the result of bad RAM, or driver issues. I would check all of these things.

I know the rating is locked, but I still think that you should run a full memory test with Memtest86or some such program. I say the full test because the quick tests often miss the errors.

Why is my laptop crashing?

I would try getting the latest video card drivers first, if it is a Nvida card & it has recently updated itself, I would roll back the drivers, there has been a problem with the last update & my computer didn't like the upgrade & blue screened a lot, but was fine after I rolled them back in safe mode, if the problem if not repairable via software then go to a Laptop specialist, for what its worth I think its a software issue as you say its only when playing games, but im not an expert just well informed.

Theoretically, your computer should have no problem running these programs. However, after researching the Dell Precision 450 specs, I found that it is a business machine with a quadro graphics card. This card is not targeted at gaming applications such as an Nvidia GeForce. This link will explain the differences. The graphics card itself may be causing the problem if the graphics drivers are crashing. This manifests as everything going black and no keys working. Also, if it is the stock card, it barely has enough graphics memory to run guild wars. You could try updating the graphics drivers from Nvidia. You could also get a new graphics card that is designed for gaming.

Another solution that you could try is updating the games by downloading patches for your games.

It sounds to me like you don't have a video card with enough memory. Those games require a very advanced video card. Check the specifications on the games and see if you need to upgrade.

Heloo, I am trying to play call of duty world at war and the game keeps crashing. I have tried all different settings in the nvidia control panel and my system is up to date. Can you help me with this?

Make sure your system meets the games minimum requirements. If it does then try using a lower video setting. If that does not work you may need to upgrade to a better graphics card. Hope this helps.
