Question about HP Computers & Internet
It could be the charger. If the cord is still keeping the laptop powered on, then it probably means that the battery connection is not working. Check that the battery port is properly connected to the system board and getting power.
Sometimes a hardware reset or re-flashing the BIOS will help.

SOURCE: battery will not charge
I purchased a Genuine Dell Battery, It arrived dead with 1 test light on battery itself at 0% charged, It only lasted 2 mins before the laptop died running on battery, It doesn't charge the Dell battery at all The replacement battery only shows a 1% charge every 7 hours or so, nor do I have a yellow, green, orange light, The only time I get a light on the battery led is if i'm running on batteries and the battery level is below 10%, Its orange for low battery.
Thanks in advance to anyone who could help me.

Sounds like you might have a bad dc power jack. ifyou wiggle the jack around where it plugs in on the computer, does the powr light come on?

If your system won't boot up with just the AC adapter connected, it means to say that there's a problem with the AC adapter or the motherboard of the computer. Basically, if the AC adapter or the motherboard is damaged, you won't get a charged battery. If there's another AC adapter that you can try your computer with then that will be great. If antoher AC adapter works, then you just have the AC adapter replaced. If a known AC adapter didn't work then you may need to consider replacing the motherboard of the computer.

I can't actually solve this, but I have to wiggle my cord around to get it to "connect". I'm pretty sure my jack is loose, but haven't opened it up yet to check. This website looks like it has a promising solution on a similar laptop: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/07/16/satellite-m35x-fixing-power-connector/

Sounds to me like the transformer circuit that enables the batery to charge. If you have bought your machine within the last 12 months it should still be covered by warranty so go back to the supplier. If not covered I wouod still try as it is not beyond reasonable expecations that the machine will operate perfectly in very way for more than 1 year.
