Replace guide bearings on jwbs-18 saw

" That one will be a press fit onto that eccentric shaft. Small bearings like that are easy to drive off with a suitable punch or mandrel. Simply stand it up in the jaws of a vise so the jaw edges contact the outer rim of the bearing and use a hammer to drive it out. Put a washer or similar bit of metal between the shaft end and the punch to protect the face."
Make sure before you put the new bearing on that the shaft is clean and smooth.

It must be a worn part. It simply needs replacement. Try calling first your Jet or consult your manual.

Simply reinstall the factory Pontiac studs, assemble valvetrain, and tighten down lock nuts until they're tight. You cannot over-tighten them, unless of course you break the studs off trying to get em bulls-*** tight. New lock nuts are a must if theyve been off more than once.

Be advised, that camshaft will turn a stock 400 into a bit of a dog down low. Factory 400's had around 8:1 compression and were designed to be a 'torque engine', not a top end screamer.

It'll make more power up top, but stock valve springs wont be too happy with that much lift and 5000r's is just about the limit on these long-stroke motors.

The plate covering the chain sprocket will not go back on. The breaking device is to tight to go over the clutch drive. I don't want to force the plate on. Please reply

Hi, you have accidently activated the chainbrake while the cover was off. Grab the cover in a vise where the bar nuts tighten up to and pull the chainbrake lever back towards where the handle bar would normally be. It will click back, then you can fit it. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

I took the stock air filter off my 2000 Suzuki Katana 600 and put a K&N air filter in it, when i accelerate it stalls out a bit before kicking up to speed. a slight lag then go.

Changing to a K&N air filter changes the air/fuel mixture for your bike, and you're probably hitting an overly lean spot before things start to even out. For bikes still running carburetors, which I think you have, you can compensate for this by changing to a slightly larger idle jet. Your main jet is probably fine (it's kicking in after the lag); it's the crossover from idle to main jet that's causing the flat spot.
Talk to your dealership parts counter to get recommendations about jet settings. They may suggest, for example, to keep your existing idle jet and go with a different main jet. Expect to try a couple different setups to find one that works best for your bike and your riding style. I would highly recommend keeping your original jets, though, in case you ever go back to the stock air box.
