I've used this exact same camera (purple) only 3 times, and then on NYE, after a picture, it would not turn off. It's lense is still protruding and it will not turn off nor on - its just dead. I've recharged the battery - still nothing.

Same problem. Occurred after downloading pics onto computer. Every time I hit the on/off button, lens kept prodruding further and further. When I keep on/off button down it flashes a message which says (I think) "Reading internal memory." But its stuck. Any help??

For the lens that portrudes and the jams, I gave the whole camera a good hit/jolt on a table. It unjammed the lens, which then went back into the camera. It was not a battery problem -- the lens just was "stuck."

Transferred pics from computer to card and the camera will not display them - all are jpeg just like what the camera takes. These were from the camera but I wanted them back on the card also.

once out of the camera & deleted form the card, the camera will not display any of the images because it does not have that function. even jpeg images being the same format cannot be viewed.

I keep putting in new or recharged batteries and every time I get ready to use my camera if it over a week, it says change the batteries. This has just started happening the last 3 months. The camera is...

The rechargeable batteries, especialy NiCD and NiMH ones, loose they're charge over time. Even if fully charged, they loose all of the charge within a week or two. This is not a malfunction.

However, if you are using alcaline batteries and still get this problem, probably you have some electric problems inside (maybe some batteries leaked in the past). In this case try cleaning the inner contacts of the battery slot. If the problem persists, go to a local electronist for repairs.

My camra worked just fine, then when I tried to turn it on it wont turn on no matter what I do

Please try the following: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

I need help with my camra. when i turn it on it turns off exactly when i turn it on. it is not the battries and the camra is fully charched i dont know what to do.?

are you using rechargeable batteries? if you are, please try installing new, regular batteries in and see what happens.

If you have tried regular batteries, check to see if anything is blocking the lens housing.

I just got my camra a few days ago and i put new batteries in then 1 day later i had to put new ones in, then i take about 2 or 3 pics and my camra turns off on its own...what is wrong with it?

Are you still using alkaline batteries? If so, alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pictures in a digital camera. Some may also have reached their shelf life, and though right out of the package may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras that use AA's for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. If you read the camera's instruction manual concerning batteries, you may see the same recommendation.
Keep in mind rechargeable batteries will save you money in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may be angry with yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

Lens is stuck

Hi,
This happens when the camera is in the ON state and the battery power drains out completely. Please recharge the batteries or insert charged batteries and the lens would get closed automatically.
Please let me know if that works.

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas

Hello,
Are you installing Nmh (Nickle- Metal Hydride) rechargable batteries?
If not then your camera probably will not recharege them.
Also trying to recharge non rechargable batteries can cause damage to the battery, and possibly your camera.
Hope this is helpful.
