Fixing CDX m770 - buttons dont respond

Hi Techman, following up on our troubleshooting of the Sony CDX-M770. Manual pushbutton control of the faceplate is still not working. Reset did not solve the problem either. But I found the remote and the unit is still fully functional with the remote control. It does appear connection to the faceplate via ribbonwire may be the problem. If any repair solution is found, please let me know, since using the remote is fine for now, but not a good long term solution. Thanks, cmeagher99

I think that you gays have a problem that calls flat cable that connects the main unit with the black rotary display
it costs about 10-20 usd and it is very flexible and thin.
the flat cable brakes at the place where it connects the external black display, you should try to look how the condition of the cable is
you can contact me at [email protected]

The buttons on the Deck do not respond but the buttons on the remote do respond. What can i do to remedy this situation.

I had the same problem, the ribbon cable that connects the fascia to the main body of the unit is damaged. these are cheaply available on ebay and not too difficult to replace.

Speaker issues

Disconnect whatever wire is connected to the blue wire behind your head unit. Re-connect it to the blue/white wire, instead.
