SOURCE: broken garden hose adaptor

We have the same pump and problems. I have attempted a few fixes with PVC sealant and hose clamps to the current adaptor, however the adapter is still continuing to crack. The adapter is removable- carefully so as to not damage the small eyelet it attaches to, (or in our case, it came off on it's own) and can be replaced by any adapter that fits- they can be found all over at lowes or home depot. I am personally going to try using a broken hose and clamping it directly to the eyelet. This is not a good reason to buy a new pump- they fix too easy!

Will amp still work after third prong is broke

If the third prong is the round one, then that is the ground to your amp. It will still work, however, the amplifier will not be properly grounded. So in a pinch you can use it, but you need to get the cable replaced. The ground wire is there for your safety, in case you plug your amp into a mis-wired outlet or if you are plugging in another instrument like a keyboard, mixer etc. that may be mis-wired. This could lead to a bad shock or worse. You have been warned.

Hello

Plug the microwave into the outlet if the microwave won't power up. Make sure the plugs on the microwave match the type of outlet. A four-pronged outlet can only be used with a four-pronged plug. Same with three-pronged outlets---they only work with three-pronged plugs.

Inspect the plug. Make sure it hasn't been cut or tampered with. Four-pronged plugs can't be cut down to fit a three-pronged outlet. Three-pronged plugs mustn't be forced into four-pronged outlets. A three-pronged plug mustn't be used in a two-pronged outlet, either.

Replace blown fuses, or if there's a circuit breaker, check it for tripped breakers. Sometimes the trip won't be obvious, so cycle the circuit breakers. Turn them all the way off and then back on again.

Plug another appliance in the outlet. You will find this easier with three-pronged appliances. Simply plug a toaster, or other appliance into the microwave's outlet, and see if it works. If it works, you know the problem is with the microwave, not the power circuit. Have the microwave serviced or replace it. If the toaster or other appliance doesn't turn on, you know the problem is with the circuit.

I'm concerned about having the proper extension cord. Just bought 15' light duty outdoor cord with 2 prong plug-SJOW/ 13 amps/ 25 volts/ 1625 watts. Is this sufficient for the # 20070910...

There should be a plate on the smoker that tells you how many amps/volts/watts it uses. If the values are lower than your extension cord I would try it, however make sure you feel the cord after the unit has been on for a bit, if it feels warm or hot to the touch, I would discontinue use of the extension cord.

If you are in need of a user manual you can find a downloadable (.pdf) version here.

What kind of extension cord to use?

You should use a cord with the ground wire in it. If you're running a heater and the wire is getting hot, it's not whether it should be an indoor or outdoor cord it's the wire size that's the problem.
If you wire is getting hot you need a larger wire size.
Depending on the amps of the heater rule of thumb
15 amps a minimum of 14 gauge with ground
20 amps a minimum of 12 gauge with ground
30 amps a minmum of 10 gauge with ground
If you are using a cord over 15 to 20 feet then you may want to go to a larger wire size.
You will know if the wire size is correct if you let the heater run for a while 20 to 30 minutes and then feel the wire it should just barely feel warm it shouldn't get real warm or hot.

I have a rule 1800 computerized pool cover pump. As soon as I plug it in, it runs a few seconds then shuts right off, WON"T keep running. (this is outside of the water, dry) any help?

That's a good thing. That pump uses resistance on the impeller to alert it to the presence of water. It will periodically start and run for a few seconds. If there is any water present, it will keep running, otherwise it will shut off until the next time it tries. Put it in water, and see if it works there.

Hooking up the four prong cord to the dryer

this is the rule of thumb, white always goes on the middle terminal ,the 2 outside terminal wires it does not matter which side they are on,if you can see the red and black wire on the terminal block then match them up,the green wire gets mounted to the cabinet, you should already have a green wire to the cabinet so remove the screw and put both wires there and your done, let me know how you do-mike
