Wow. Works for me. Try pressing MESSAGE and look at the display. The 3rd soft key will say "CLEAR". Keep pressing MESSAGE and CLEAR until the messages are empty.

Brother printer ink tanks not resettinmg to full when refilled When ink tanks are refilled and replaced the printer is still showing empty tanks and still printing in a green colour

I had the same problem;
Try this
1. Turn the printer off (push off button)
2. Open cover and remove all the ink cartridges. Just out of the clip will be sufficient
3 With cover still open, Turn printer on again (push on button)
Message should come up to replace all the ink cartridges ( in sequence probably). Follow the instructions
4. When all the cartridges have been replaced it will prompt you to close the cover.
5. Close the cover and it will ask if you've replaced each of the cartridges one by one
6 Use the up arrow (Menu,up arrow, down arrow, set) to indicate 'yes' for each one.

The printer will then do a clean cycle and everything should be ok from here

Good luck

Ink system failure error 0xc18a0101

I had this problem, was about to buy me a new printer but than found the perfect solution. Just excuse my english (I am German). I have to translate the menue German into English and I hope I do it right.

Push the Setup and the arrow that shows to the left at the same time! Than push ok. A menue opens that says something with support. Push the arrow right button until system configuration appears. open it with the OK button. Now it should show the hardware failure status. If not look for it with the arrow button. When found the hardware failure status, again push OK button. Than something like clear inquiry should appear, push OK. As soon as the "hardware failure status cleared" appears, you can leave the menue by disconnecting the printer from the powercable.
Reconnect it with the powercable and it should work again.
