Question about Audio Players & Recorders

CD players won't play working discs

I put the disc in and I hear "motor-boating" before it starts to play then it will play for awhile and stop w/error displayed.I figured it was just a cheap CD player so I put the same Disc in my "old reliable" player and it started doing the same. I tried other discs . . . Now "old reliable" is acting like the 1st player, not wanting to play any disc. What do you think ?

Its just the lens error or the motor getting blocked internally and needs servivicing and cleaning.its possible that both can be faulty.

The only solution I can thing of for this since you have 2 cd players affected is the following.

Unplug the power to both players leave unplugged for a few minutes. Try another cd in not the one that started the problem just an actual non burned cd. IF it works don't use the first cd again as it is defective. I have seen a damaged cd cause the laser inside to become unaligned if that is the case repair or replace unit.

thanks for using fixya

It is a mechanically problem in your player .

The rubber thread which should be connected to the motor inside the CD player might have moved from its place.

You need to place the rubber thread to proper place.

Also if the belt is slipping, the mech never gets the "drawer closed" signal, and the disk will not spin.

Is having trouble reading or tracking disc.I opened top and while playing disc the tracking mechanism goes out then back in and starts playing where it stopped?

You can clean the lens with a small amount of windex and put a little oil like 3 and 1 oil on the spindle motor shaft and on the sled rails. Good luck !

Technics SL-MC60 error message: "Take out"

Hello
If a disc has been put in the slot of the disc in play, Remove the disc, whose number is displayed, and press stop button.
Because of light or noise, the changer has detected a disc in the lot of the disc being played, even though it is empty. Check whether there is a disc in the displayed slot. With front panel closed, hold down "STOP " button for atl least four seconds or more.

My xbox 360 won't play my Fifa 09 game. I accidentally moved my xbox while the game was running and i heard the disc rattle. Didn't notice anything weird cause i stopped playing at that time. I go to play...

When you accidently moved your Xbox while the game was running, it probably put a scratch on your FIFA 09 disc.

You can try to fix it by using a cd /dvd scratch repair kit. You can find them at just about any store that sells cd or dvds.

I had a disc that wouldn't play and used one of the repair kits on it because I had nothing to lose. As I was applying the solution to the disc, I thought.... this is a complete waste of time.

When I wiped the solution off and put the disc in my Xbox, I had no expectations that the game would work. Well... I was wrong, the disc actually worked.

There's no guarantee the repair kit will work in your particular case but, you're in the same boat I was in... You've got nothing to lose by trying.

The only other option is to buy a new disc.

Deck A will not play/Deck B OK

Sounds like the CDR deck has an issue. When the disc comes out has it's position changed i.e has it been spun at all? Can you hear any motors moving? Does it work with any type of disc ( cd/cdr/cdrw)?

DVD PLAYER NOT READING DISC

Well I have been repairing dvd players a while now and the main problem spots are laser ,spindle motor, laser tracking motor and the biggest culprit and un suspecting one the lens cable .....most of them range from the lens cable to the spindle motor though... the constant movement of the lens in watching a whole movie causes the cable to unknowingly and slowly break and if the spindle motor is defective ,on inserting a dvd the disc spins slowly and you may hear the lens chirping ... so you can check those....
