SOURCE: Watch hands don't coincide with the digital time.

This usually occurs when the battery is changed. There should be a process for synchronising the two times detailed in the manual.

To get a manual you go to "http://tissot.ch/" and on the black menu bar at the bottom of the page you will see "product support". Click on this and you will go to a page of instructions. Download yours and find the relevant method for putting your watch right.

SOURCE: How to set the hands to match the correct digital

Setting Digital Time

  1. The digital timepiece on a watch is set using the function buttons on the outer part of the watch face. To set the digital time, press and hold the upper left button until the seconds starts blinking. Press the lower right button to reset the seconds to "00."

    Push the lower left button to move to the Daylight Savings Time portion of the watch. Use the lower right button to toggle between "On" and "OFF."

    Press the lower left button twice. The hours unit will start blinking. To advance the hour, press the lower right button repeatedly until the correct hour is displayed. If you need to move the hours unit backwards, press the middle right button until the correct hour is displayed. When the hour is set, press the lower left button to switch to minutes, and use the same commands to change the minutes unit.

    After the time is set, press the upper left button to exit the digital time setting function.
  2. Setting Analog Time
  3. You may find after setting the digital timepiece that the analog display does not match. When this occurs, you need to set the analog time. To set the analog time, press the lower left button 6 times. Next, press and hold the upper left button until the digital time starts to blink. This indicates that you are in analog time setting mode.

    Analog time adjustment is completed using the lower right button. Every time you press the button, the analog time will advance 20 seconds. If you need to make a big change to the analog time, press and hold the lower right button to make the hands move faster. Once the analog time is set, press the upper left button to exit the analog time setting mode.

The second hand won't tick

On many Invicta watches, the large hand which points towards 12 o'clock is not a second hand. It is the hand used with the stopwatch function. If yours is a chronograph, the second hand, if there is one, may be one of the three small dials on the watch face. There are a number of movements used in Invicta watches and the operating instructions can differ from movement to movement. The battery also will be different depending on the movement.

How to submit questions about watches

To submit correct question about any watch here on FixYa you have to give as much details of particular watch as possible. There are hundreds of people asking for help, but it makes no sense if the question, for example, is: How can I adjust my Citizen stainless steel watch? Citizen, as any other watch manufacturer produces thousands of watch models and every year few hundreds of new models are added. This makes impossible to recognize any watch by the brand name given only.
So, to make sure that you will receive proper help with your watch, please always submit:
1. Brand name;
2. Model name;
3.Type of display ( Analog or digital or both);
4.Type of movement (Mechanical, quartz, kinetic, solar e.t.c.);
5.Number of the watch (Usually written on watch's case back);
6.All the writings you can find on watch's case back.
If you are not sure what type of movement your watch has, here is a tip how to find it out: Observe watch's seconds hand. If it is moving in jumping action second after second - your watch has a quartz movement which is battery driven. If the seconds hand is moving in sweeping action - most likely your watch has mechanical movement which is driven by spring.
The more information you will submit, the better.

I have a disallignement of 10 minutes between the digital and the analogical time. The digital time is perfect how can I allign the analogical one?

You have to know that analog time "follows" digital time.Any hour/minutes correction on the display has direct effect on time/minutes hands.Some times, mostly after battery replacement,hands might have declination.That is why there is a function so called "Hands home position adjustment".Using this function you can align both hands to 12/00 position.If there is any declination (I think is your case) you can correct.Try to enable this function by pressing for 4-5 sec the upper left button(A) until "HAND SET" appears.If hands are not aligned exactly to 12/00 position, you must correct by pressing the lower right button (D) for forward movement or the upper right button (B) for backward movement.In fact, minutes hand is aligned,hour hand follows.When both hands are set to 12/00 (home position) press button A again.Time Mode returns to the display.Normally hands will now show exactly according to digital (display) time.I hope this will help.

Digital display on my NEW casio baby g is too faint for me to see

Hi,

I fix watches as a hobby, and I had a few that corrected this by replacing the battery. If that does not work then the quartz movement probably got wet. you would have to pop the case open remove the movement and clean it gently with a q-tip. You will also be able to see if the issue is with the plastic case that can probably be faded from wear or moisture. The plastic case can be cleaned with a q-tip with alcohol. Be careful not to get any liquids, magnets or dirt near the movement. I hope this helps! Marcelo

Please can u show me how to change the time on this watch.

Set the time on your Baby G by switching to time mode. The button on the bottom left-hand side of the watch is the mode button. Pressing it once to will set the watch to time mode. The time digits will begin to flash.
  • 2Start by adjusting the seconds. Press the button on the top-right side of the watch once. The second digits will start to flash. Press the bottom right-hand button until the correct second time is displayed. Hold down the button to cycle through the digits. Once the correct time is displayed, press the bottom left-hand button and the digits will stop flashing. Press the bottom left-hand button again to set the hours.

  • 3Follow the same procedure to change the hours setting. Set the time and date by cycling through the digits in the following sequence: seconds, hours, minutes, year, month and date.
  • 4Press the bottom right-hand button to set the seconds to 00. When the second display is between 1 and 29, the digits will change to 00. If the display is between 30 and 59 seconds, the seconds will revert to 00 and one minute will be added to the minutes display.
  • 5Change from an a.m. to a p.m. setting by pressing the button in the middle of the bottom of the watch when any of the time display digits are flashing.

    I went to put a new battery in a LACOSTE model or part number 2000308 ladies leather strap watch only to find that there was no movement at all ???? what movement and spacer if any do I need

    A watch with no movement in it is probably a salesman's sample or display model. These are often distributed to stores as part of a larger display. In addition to missing a movement, you should also check to see whether the hands have been glued in place. This is also often done because, without a movement, the hands would just flop around instead of staying in an attractive position.
    Watch movements come in a variety of standard sizes and shapes. However, a standard ladies watch movement (made by many manufacturers) would probably fit your watch case. This size movement is today used in much larger watches, too; the movement is simply anchored by an appropriate spacer.
    A jeweler advertising watch repair should be able to offer you a price on this job. If the hands have been glued to the dial, it may not be worth "upgrading" the watch because of the additional expense and potential damage to the watch face from getting the hands freed up.
    If you're ambitious and want to try it yourself, movements can be found online at a variety of watch supply houses like Otto Frei. You can also buy a cheap new or used watch at a flea market or thrift store and use the movement from that. You might be able to re-purpose the spacer in that watch, too, by trimming it to fit your watch case. The major stumbling point here is that watch stems--i.e., the stem on which the setting crown is located--are usually custom-cut in length to match a specific case, and the one you select may be too long or too short for your case. A watch repair place should be able to replace the stem and crown for you, if you need that service. Trimming an overly-long stem is a very simple and cheap procedure; replacing the stem requires a new stem, which will add to the cost of the repair.

    The hands on my Citizen watch (movement caliber number C320) don't reset properly. I have followed the factory instruction several times with the same result: the minute hand moves to a position 5 - 10...

    This is normal. The watch begins timing when you reset it. That 5 to 10 minutes is the time that it took you to do the all reset procedure and you can see that the same time is shown in the digital display - so everything is aligned. It is actually pretty cool that it does that. Source: just did the all reset having dropped my watch. Love this watch!

    You can align the analogue time with the digital time by pressing the mode button until you reach the hand setting position (HS) and then press one of the right hand buttons to change the hand position.

    Hands do not show same time as digital display. the hands are two hours and several seconds behind the digital display. the digital display is correct. when I press the A and B buttons simultaneously...

    I have a Casio which had a similar problem and had to resort to reading he instructions to align the times!

    I presume that instructions for your watch are not to hand but you can get instructions from the Citizen web site.

    Go to "citizen.com" and on the upper right there is a menu. Click on "technical support" and then on "setting instructions"

    Fill in the information required from the back of your watch and then click on "get setting instructions"

    How do I sync the analog time with the digital time? (manual at home, I'm at work)

    press the button at 8 o'clock until "HS" is displayed.

    press the button at 2 or 4 O'clock to advance or ****** the hands. Holding the button down will lead to rapid movement, pulsing the button will step it in small amounts.
