Question about Everex VA1500V-R Notebook PC
It is possible that you are missing the audio drivers for WinXP.
Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Manage".
Go down to "Device Manager" and look for "Sound, video, and game controllers".
See if any of the items listed has a yellow exclamation mark or red "x" next to it.
That's your culprit.
(A red "x" means that the device is disabled. Double-click on it and at the bottom of that window you can enable the device.)
Go to Everex' support page (here), choose your model and download the necessary driver(s).
If your specific model is not in the list, try something similar and download that driver - they are often identical or at least interchangeable.
