Your hard drive is getting to full for it to be used as virtual memory
When normal memory gets used up windows uses the hard drive as memory ans if insufficient room on hard drive is not available you get this message.
Solution.
1) delete programs from hard drive to create more space
2) Install new hard drive and transfer programs to it. creating more room on C drive
3) If hard drive is already partitioned and 2nd partition has a lot of free space transfer Virtual over to it.

Go to Start / Control panel Open The System folder go to "Advanced" "performance settings"
Then to "Advanced " Click on change and set Virtual memory to new disk.
Set maximum and minimum the same at 3 times the amount of normal memory you ave

My computer shows low memory

If this could be insufficient RAM or low virtual memory (ie page swap file space).
This Microsoft WEB site shows how to fix this problem.

I am upgrading to windows 7. How much memory should go with the up grade? at present time I have1028 and512 GB installed. CPU ok for the up grade?

Hi,
minimum 2GB for smooth use of the pc, but RAM is fairly cheep so I would go for 4GB. The most importet hardware to be fast is your harddrive.

Google "virtual memory too low solution." Trusted sources are PC Magazine, Microsoft...

(In my case, I ran "msconfig", go to "Start up" tab and uncheck programs I did not want Windows to load at boot. That would free up memory.).

Hello im having problems with virtual memory it says its to low what is a good number to change it to?

The best setting is actually to let Windows control how much you have instead of setting it at a specific size. That way it can grow if needed or when larger hard Drives are installed.

YES! If he/she forced, banged, staticly-charged the mother board you could in fact have a short on the mother board. Now, because your virtual memory is low... Well, that is no reason to change out anything. That is all software controled and accesses the hard drive (clearning temp. memory durring disk clean up and such.)

Virtual Memeory

farc
Main memory (in general we call RAM) r use for those protions of code and data that are actively being used. and the rest of program is stored in virtual memory of the disk. for this reson we can deal with grater amount of data or coad then ram. this is reserve space in disk in windows xp "pagefile.sys" control virtual memory.
To solve ur problem right click of "My computer" then click on "properties" then click on "advance" tab, click "setting" under Performance, then click on "advance",and then click on "change" click on "system managed size" radio button" and click on "set"( if it already selected "custom size" set initial size 500MB Maximum size 2000MB and click on set tab) then ok and again ok at last ok. and restart ur machine.

(if "system managed size" not solved ur problem then should select custom size and give the above size or as per your choice)

thank for asking
