How do I change the size/font of the letters? Bold and underline too?

To change font and pitch, you need to buy a different printwheel. machines came with a prestige elite 12 printwheel. Prestige elite has small letters and 12 puts 12 charactors per inch. Letter gothic is larger size letters. Google search for ibm wheelwriter printwheel, also called a daisy wheel.

How to change pitch on wheelwriter

The printwheel determines what the pitch is on the wheelwriters. A 10 pitch printwheel will only print in 10 pitch and a 12 pitch printwheel will only print in 12 pitch. Same with a 15 pitch or a PS (proportional spacing) printwheel.

Letters printing out of order

Printwheel in wrong. release the printwheel, make sure the pin is aligned with the slot on the hub and snap it back in. The printwheel should spin, then home out to the left margin, the it should be ok. Checkd to make sure no pedals on the printwheel are bent.

I am getting an error 215 on my typewriter at the office and dont have the manuel. Do you have any suggestions? I need to use this right away. thank you

215 Error is the printwheel. Remove the printwheel. look in the PW area for bits of paper or other debris, if you have an air source blow out this area, reinstall PW and test. If the problem persists you will need a printwheel sensor.

The flywheel from my brother ml300 typwriter came off and i don't know how to put it back on

I assume by "flywheel", you are referring to the "printwheel" which is removable from the typewriter by unlatching the print hammer mechanism by pulling the black lever on the right side of the print hammer towards the front of the machine. To install the printwheel, drop the printwheel in its cartridge with the letters facing the paper, then push the print hammer assembly towards the paper to the latched position. Turn on machine, and the printwheel will spin and "home". If printwheel homing is not correct, repeat above procedure with slightly more pressure when latching the printwheel. (The printwheel must latch on to its drive spindle securely). Good Luck

check to see if there is a "kybrd 1 and kybrd 2 " switch. should be on kybrd 1. also there is a pitch switch that needs to be the same as your printwheel. look for a switch that has 10, 12, 15 and PS printed beside it. if you have a 10, 12 or 15 pitch printwheel it won't print properly on PS. a PS printwheel won't work on the other settings. also check to see if anything is anything is touching the printwheel. then check the printwheel to make sure none of the fingers is bent out of place. if none of this seems to work, you probably have a bad main board and will need professional repair.
