Question about Casio Xj-a140 Dlp Projector

Casio projector power light and temp light blinking

The projector starts initially, then what i think is the fan tries to turn on, then stops, then repeats for a few times. It stops trying, and the power light starts blinking with the temp light. Then the power light goes solid after a little while, with the temp light blinking. I was wondering if anyone knew what I need to fix, or what I should do. Thanks

Why yes, how old is your battery? If more than a couple years, time for a new one. Here's some from Amazon. While there, also think about an external charger, they're very inexpensive also.

SOURCE: casio xj-s30 projector was unplugged

Perform a Factory Reset:
1) Plug unit into AC power, so that all the lights come on as mentioned.
2) Press and hold "MENU", "ENTER" and "INPUT" (all together) for at least 5 seconds. Error lights will clear.
3) Turn OFF by POWER button, wait a few seconds.
4) Turn power ON by pressing the POWER button.
The projector will turn ON, but will take a while (1-2 minutes) to load firmware.
5) Recommend to go into Menu and at the very bottom use the "restore all defaults"

Why does red TEMP light come on after power up?

The fan is important. If it doesn't turn at the correct speed the red light will come on. Replace the fan and that will fix the problem Go to Casio's website to get the part or try here:

Red power, blinking red temp

Hi,

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

  • A flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
  • A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the projector is turned back on, service the projector.
Goodluck..

Lamp is burned out or makes a popping sound.
When the lamp reaches its end of life, it may burn out and may make a loud popping sound.
If this occurs, the projector does not turn back on. To replace the lamp, see on page 38.

Toshiba TDP SC25 projector

The manual says it might be because the power went out when it was on. Just a note here, as projectors age they become more sensitive to power outages. When not in use turn off completely if you can. They have an on/off button.

Otherwise not sure but think you may need to replace the fan. Try cleaning it first but gently.

Projector problem

I generally fix this by re-seating the bulb housing. Take it out and put it back in. Look for cracking at the base of the bulb on the mirrored surface. It could be a barely functioning bulb that isn't busted, but can't initialize. I would take it to a shop that has the same bub type in a housing and make a quick switch.
