Question about Brother HL 1440 Laser Printer
I have been using 1440 with a Mac 9.2 OS. Worked but when I went to print the printer would not stop printing and last pages had some odd numbers on them. I finally went to Mac finder and clicked on BR printer and then clicked on delete copies which it did but it held final one. I restarted everything but gave me a message that spools contained unprinted pages and I could not get them off even though I hit delete. Now red light is blinking when I start up.
Reboot your computer and power down your printer. Leave them off for about 30 minutes or even overnight. (In other words, leave the computer and printer off more than a few minutes--some of the printers take more than 5 minutes before they'll clear their memories--a quick reboot won't do it.)
When deleting print copies it is safer to use the delete button on the printer than to delete from your computer, as then the copies don't get hung up in spooling.
I've had to do this a few times with Vista and printers, as things get held up in spooling on a regular basis.
