I have an IBM T60 Centenial DUO laptop. It will not boot up. I have gone to the ThinkAdvantage site it says my LPT1 port is not working. I have tried to disable the port from the BIOS but am unable to do so.

Re: LPT1 not working
Hi looking at your description it seems more like a drive error as a opposed to lpt1 problem, I've never known a lpt1 port to stop boot.
Sata drives are notorious for bad connections, could it be that the connections to your drive have worked loose?
I hope this helps, if not please let me know thanks.

The laptop has a blue 15 pin D-sub video port, connect a video cable from this port to the 15 pin D-sub on the HDTV.
Power up the TV first and then power up the laptop, the video signal will automatically switch to the external video output.
You can toggle between the LCD and TV or both on together by pressing the blue Fn key + the F7 function key several times.
The problem is sort of solved. I phoned the IBM Support centre; they said that the mother board was either broken or faulty. Fortunately the laptop is still under waranty and so an engineer will come and fix it. I must say the IBM suport centre was very efficient and quick.
There was no mention from them though that it was the bios update that may have caused the problem.
